Well y'all who didn't want him got your wish. Ansah effectively acts as Clark's replacement as a pass rusher, again which is all that matters to me if you're getting him.

Well, here's to hoping Harbaugh actually lets Tim Wlliams play because he's probably the future here as a pass rusher.

Who's ready for people to continue to overrate and overhype Judon.

Yes, we rush the passer in waves, but when he's your best one(as of this moment), there's a problem. That's what I'm worried about with the defense.

When it comes to pass rush our best hope is that Ferguson is just as good as Judon, or that the athletic d-linemen we got turn out to be huge steals.

That's a lot to gamble on. Though I'm happy the young guys are finally getting a chance to prove themselves(fuck you Harbaugh).

Next year's edge class looks good though so no worries for me. Right now the pass rush worries me more than anything. I think Ferguson is a long-term upgrade over ZDS, but as much as I like him in that role, he still has a lot to work on.

Idk why so many people are low on him. I just watched the LSU tape and Ferguson looked pretty good. Seemed pretty instinctual on the read option and did not over commit. The bull rush he's known for seemed pretty good against big competition too.

Just so we’re clear... I fucking wanted ansah from the moment he hit FA.

Report just came out that he may miss the first month of the season due to surgery

If thats true then it may have been best he wasnt a Raven. Ansah would have been asked to make a transtition to outside linebacker which is a postion I dont think he has experience with at The NFL level. Potentially missing all of training camp would not help especially if The Ravens have needed him to start opposite of Matt Judon in case the other young outside linebackers fail to show they can handle every down responsibilities.

I wanted him on a 1 year vet minimum contract, but lets not forget it's a risk. However lets not forget that he is most likely going to miss atleast one month of the season due to surgery.

its both scary and exciting - means that we likely arent bringing in anyone to outright take the job from the young guys which means at least one of them is gonna be starting through lack of other options - that could fall flat on its face but also could mean that finally timmy or tyus emerge or ferguson straight up plays well enough to win the job as a rookie - those 2 options are exciting even if they are risky - it's kind of how we ended up dealing with ricky wagner and the RT spot - he only had nominal competition from a player in ryan jensen who wasnt really even an option at tackle so one the job almost by default but he was ready in year 3 to take it on

agree, but we need to add an edge rusher and a mlb. Bowser and Tim Williams have either not shown much or not seen the field much because of various reasons. Ferguson is a rookie and rookies don't play much in our scheme early in the season. Judon is very inconsistent. Peanut hasn't played mlb yet and Young needs to progress, is there even a mlb on the market? Like I said before just trade for Schobert and sign a pass rusher. I doubt teams even trade an average pass rusher.

Why do the Ravens need a MLB? Last year Kenny Young looked good before Peanut started looking too good to take off field. Is everyone just forgetting how much everyone wanted him starting?

OLB I would say they need a 1st and 2nd down guy more than a pass-rush specialist. The defense overall just looks like it will be better than last year so I'm not too worried about that.

They looked that good in part due to Weddle and CJ recognizing the play and telling them an assignment. Essentially they had the training wheels on.

exactly. You could even see them putting them in the correct formation.

You mean the sort of thing a FA signing cant really do but thd 3rd year player can after a year of having it done for him.

Also Weddle might know the plays but he was not fast enough anymore to really make plays whereas ET can. TJ can probably hint KY along in the defense and it will largely look the same as before.

Hopefully we can see Tim Williams get an opportunity.

Young isn't really the one I'm worried about. And yeah, ET3 is ten times the player Weddle was. But he's never really been the type to babysit the other guys. He's not the one that'll be calling new assignments on the fly.
