Suggs was always able to magically get the weight off and still be in playing shape and more to the point Suggs was never so out of shape that he had to be pulled from practice for his own safety. The contract year doesn't irk me so much as the fact that he was so fat AND out of shape that he could not practice. Suggs would always put on a few but then drop it off but he didn't miss practice because of it and considering his skill at coming back from injury whatever he was doing to his body was working.
Magically LMAO. You don’t think the training staff telling him to have a cut back on his calories and the rigor of an NFL training camp had anything to do with it. Get fucking real.
Not to get personal but I’m currently going through my own weight loss journey at the moment. I was 5’10, 215 pounds. Not obese or anything since I do lift, but I had a good old beer and ice cream belly. I cut my calories back 500 a day and started exercising reguarly(and nothing too intense) while cutting out alcohol entirely, and I’ve lost close to 17 pounds in the past three weeks. Sure, the first 10 was likely water weight but I don’t exercise for more than an hour and a half a day, and 30 min on my “off days”, and if I can lose that much weight rapidly, imagine what an NFL player can do. Especially when they’re that big, when you can lose greater than the recommended 2 pounds per week.
I normally dog on
@Sami84 , but in an NFL training camp with team nutritionists and whatnot, losing 8 pounds a week is more than doable.
Pierce has 3 months to get back into shape. In an NFL camp he should be more than good to go. This is a non-story. Supremely embarrassing sure. But it wouldn’t surprise me if he still plays at a harder level. You think Harbaugh isn’t going to work him like a dog?
We need a shorter offseason.
