Tour de France 2019

Does anyone else love the Tour de France as much as I do? I mean I really look forward to this event every year. I am a little bummed that Chris Froome and Marc Cavendish are not in it this year. I always have my favorite riders and I have been known to scream like a maniac at different stages if my rider wins. If you like the Tour de France, which riders do you like and dislike?

team sky and dave brailsford were the best thing to happen to british cycling - it's a shame geraint thomas crashed so recently before the tour this year
Team Sky was elite! I guess it is Team Ineos now but I believe Geraint Thomas should still be a force to be reckoned with. I hate that my man Ritchie Porte's team put him in such a hole in the time trial. I was hoping he could make some noise this year. I like when former workhorse's take their shot. I was a big Tejay van Garderen fan but have come to realize he does not have heart. It bothers me to no end that he has never tried to break out to win a stage in the tour. At some point, you got to suck it up and make a go for one. I am upset that Team Dimension Data left Marc Cavendish home this tour. I would have loved to see the old Manx Missile still going for a sprinter's stage win. FYI, I am not a fan of Peter Sagan and want to see someone take the green jersey from him, but it is not going to happen this year.

Were you a big fan of Sir Bradley Wiggins?

my problem with sagan is not him tbh - my problem is that he's so good at what he does that he will never be unseated as winner of the points jersey despite not being a brilliant sprinter - the green jersey isnt really truly representative as a sprinters jersey

loved wiggo - ive got a signed maillot jaune from the year he won as the first brit to win

I agree that the green jersey should be for sprinters...not a stupid points classification. Take today, how is it even fair for the sprinters when there were category 4 climbs during the stage. Peter Sagan takes these stages because he is fast enough and has the ability to weather the climbs, but he is not winning the last stage on the Champs-Elysees. That bothers the hell out of me.

I think it is awesome that you have a Sir Bradley Wiggins signed maillot jaune from 2012. I am jealous!

Day Six with one of the most brutal climbs I have seen. Tomorrow is going be a nightmare! Going to predict a stage win for Nairo.

I used to be amazed by Lance Armstrong but never cared for him as a person. He is the nephew of my Pastor's wife. Even during his hayday I liked George Hincapie so much better. It is a shame he was also caught up in the doping days. Completing 16 Tour de France races is unbelievable! He was one of the nicest riders in the peloton.

i mean all those years everyone was doing it - obviously it ruins the whole competition completely but ultimately he was still better than everyone else (and they were all doping at that time) - what's crazy is that in hindsight they couldnt even re-hand out the victories to other people in those races which were won by dopers (where in the olympics the medals get re-assigned if someone gets caught cheating) because it was completely impractical and almost impossible to identify the fastest non-doping finisher...

That was a fun one, think Bernal is the best shot for Ineos this year. Lots of possibilities over the next couple days though
