I've never doubted de costas hoarding ability. I question his evaluation skills and roster building.
you keep saying 34 year old DT and forgetting the fact that it's calais campbell who's instantly the best pass rusher on the team
not exactly sure and I talk to him all the time off the boards. I just think he was totally stressed out on the boards. I like him and all but it's been refreshing not having him on for a while. Who knows, he may come back at one point.

Besides the coaching, the other problem the Browns had was their offensive line. This helps solidify one of those Tackle Spots, now they just need a new Left Tackle.

personally, i think we'll be disappointed in him as a raven. He'll offer something but it wont solve the overall issue with pressure. I expect him to have a down year at 34.
what would you call a down year for campbell - what sort of production are you expecting out of him that you think he'll be a disappointment?

he'll get around 3-4 sacks and be around pierces level of run stopping
know need to have rounds 2-7 anymore. Sami says they aren't good players unless they come out of the 1st round.

well not when we pick in round 2
you're right that would be disappointing but i honestly think we're gonna see 5 sacks minimum from campbell - he pressures still at a better level than every single player on our team and does it all across the DL

People forget that Michael Pierce was a top 3 run stopper for 2 seasons straight aside from this year and was our BEST DT. Sure no pass rush whatsoever but with campbell you'll only be getting around 3-4 sacks at this point in his career.

i think he's had more influence on picks than all of you think over the years. esp recent years.
Last year he did have a low sack number, but so did the rest of the team. What you can tell is that opposing QBs had a 10 point higher QBR with him off the field and that RBs got an average of 1 YPC more with him off the field. That is a big deal. He was a stud last year that was stuck on a bad team.
he's absolutely had influence and Campbell had 6 1/2 sacks last year and it's not all about sacks either. He helps the entire defense.

get rid of trash like chris wormley and brandon williams and get at least 1 more 2 way DE thats in his prime that can make his life easier.
Guys like wormley and b will are not good for campbells situation
