Lamar Jackson

absurd stats - probably why adding weapons is supposedly going to be a great thing for this offence

These stats are missleading. QBR also takes running into account, which in Lamar's case helps a lot.
I think the following graph shows exactly what said in your other post.

how are they grading those throws? like what goes into the grade?

im not disagreeing with the chart - it looks about right pattern-wise

and QBR is so nebulous because we still dont really know how it's calculated (and you may be right that because historically QBs dont run as much as lamar, the weighting towards a running QB maybe more helpful to him in the accounting of the stat than it should be)

It's a pure passing stat. PFF don't fully disclose how much each aspects accounts for the final grade. Ball location (in front, front, overthrow, frame etc..), throw type, primary coverage type, level of receiver separation and something they call look (Side of the field where the qb is looking when dropping back and whether or not there's is one or more receivers to that side. Plays with no read i.e. screen passes are labeled as scheme).
I don't have a PFF account. I'm not sure if there are more variables...

interesting - the ball location seems like it could be incredibly subjective with regards to how it gets scored

Lamar is perhaps one of the smartest young football players there is. He lives, breathes and sleeps football. Achieving football greatness is like religion to him. It is stunning to me that instead of being idolized and lauded he's repeatedly doubted and slighted. Fuck them all!
Why are you still surprised?

I know the Vick and Lamar comparisons were obnoxious, but the Lamar and Taysom Hill comparisons? Whew chillleeee.....
