Well why not. After all, deregulating the financial services sector worked out so well in the early 2000s, right?
It's a great business model. Let's load our pockets while fucking up everything else and then pocket a bailout, too.
Deregulate some more.
Rinse, repeat.
There ought to be a revolution.

The main problem is that the banking/finance economy and the real economy are very interconnected, now even more than in 2008. The last couple of weeks were irritating af: fed and gov trying everything to pump the stock market, irrational stock markets, wirecard debacle...
Do you know what CDOs are? One would think banks and regulators would've learned their lesson, but banks started to invest heavily in CLOs which are basically CDOs 2.0.

The GOP is hell bent on destroying this country in ways that it'll be left unrecognizable. This isn't the GOP I knew during the Reagan era. Those were people that were patriotic, but now it seems to me the GOP is 'largely' comprised of Confederate sympathizers and white nationalists. I'm not claiming all Republicans are racists or Confederate sympathizers but if you are, the GOP lets you fit right in. That is how corroded they have become in less than 7-8 yrs now.

Can you imagine Russia putting bounties on American soldiers and paying them out (implicitly implying the bounties for American soldiers' deaths were successful) and the faux patriotic GOP choosing not to say a word and still supporting this President that was told this fact in March and given a menu of retaliatory options but instead chose to play golf! in the past, this would've been unimaginable! WTF America? WTF GOP?

The corruption by both parties is why America is where it is now. Trump winning exposed the Democrats' corruption and their whiny sore loser attitudes. Trump winning exposed how much of a threat Russia actually is. Nothing will change until the system itself wants to change. The sad part is citizens who support either party are just puppets who believe anything their party says, facts be damned.

Well, the primary reason Trump is President now is because of how afraid Putin was of Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State. The Russian interference in strategic precincts is what tipped the election in Trump's favor. Let's not pretend that Trump didn't lose the majority vote by well over 3.3M votes now. No both parties aren't perfect but one is still palatable to American interests and one has totally sold itself to cultism, propaganda, corruption and foreign interests while still flaunting faux patriotism and the Constitution. Let's not play this game of deflection about how bad both parties are when there is only one party in power that matters right now and is solely responsible for the abysmal handling of the virus response and basically encouraging more infections by undermining social distancing and mask wearing. No @JO_75 there is no comparison between these two parties like it used to be 15-20 yrs ago when you could reasonably take either position and still love this country dearly. Right now, the Republican party has morphed into Trump's cult and does not have the backbone to stand up to gross misconduct and obvious failings of this President. These are simply facts sir.

but you're making the faults of the parties equivalent when they are not

the democrats are guilty of being institutionally influenced by the establishment and big business while being slow to enact social change etc. - ultimately they are the party that is guilty of never doing enough and being to content to sit and play politics

the GOP is corrupt from top to bottom run by special interests (many from outside the USA), who've thrown decorum and political systems out the window in order to make themselves richer and make the lives of discriminated groups as hard as possible while hiding behind evangelical christian values - they are a party defined by making the rich richer and making government smaller and interfere less (except when it comes to governing women's bodies and minority communities - they really seem to care about those 2 things) - they are a party of dangerous and villainous hypocrisy

you can say both parties are a problem but its pretty clear that one is dangerous and the other is merely frustrating - the overton window in the US is so far right for the democrats to be thought of as to the left - in any other country they'd be thought of as the conservative party - the GOP is even further to the right where fascism and all sorts of dangerous nationalistic concepts exist

The GOP certainly is corrupt but the Democrats are just as bad. I feel your take on the situation is strongly
Influenced by your liberal bias.

i just told you the democrats are completely useless and run by the money they get from the establishment - it shouldnt be controversial to look at what the GOP are doing and say that it is objectively appalling and indefensible

this idea that 1 bad is just as bad as the any other bad is false equivalency

Is this a problem? There's nothing wrong with it.

I don't have a problem with it, but just think bowing down to the insane left is not the best thing to do. I'm still trying to figure out how millionaires kneeling during an anthem or wearing social justice stuff on their jersey actually improves the community these teams play in. Players throw out all their support by doing this but DO NOTHING in the community for the cause they are protesting.

Voter Fraud Charges being brought to a city councilman and others in New Jersey in regards to the May 12th municipal election.

Paterson City Councilman Michael Jackson, Councilman-Elect Alex Mendez, Shelim Khalique and Abu Razyen have been charged with criminal conduct involving mail-in ballots during the election.

Jackson, 48, is charged with fraud in casting a mail-in vote, unauthorized possession of ballots, tampering with public records and falsifying or tampering with records.

Mendez is similarly charged with election fraud, fraud in casting a mail-in vote, unauthorized possession of ballots, false registration or transfer, tampering with public records and falsifying or tampering with records. Mendez also allegedly got and submitted one or more voter registration applications that he knew were false, fictitious or fraudulent, knowing the person in the application was not eligible to vote in the election district.

Razyen, 21, is charged with fraud in casting a mail-in vote and unauthorized possession of ballots. He was allegedly seen on video with more than three mail-in ballot envelopes that did not have the bearer portion completed.

Khalique, 51, faces the same charges as Razyen along with tampering with public records and falsifying or tampering with records. He allegedly collected and submitted ballots that were not his and did not identify himself as the bearer when they were delivered to the Passaic County Board of Elections.

how is it bowing down to the left?

it's allowing players to support communities and movements that are important to them

and it is insane for you to suggest that these players dont support their communities with their earned wealth - it's almost boring hearing about all the charity work players do in their communities because they all do it

and it's weird that you emphasise the fact that the players are millionaires as if many of them cant still be affected by poverty and discrimination... as if many of their backgrounds were not from poverty and discrimination... as if many of their families still struggle with poverty and discrimination

this idea of millionaire athletes being hypocrites is such a stupid and irresponsible narrative...

what's the difference between donald trump a billionaire tycoon with vested interests and a career in tv espousing a political opinion and millionaire athletes with working class backgrounds...

NBA bows down to the insane Left.

Saying "Black lives matter" isn't bowing down to any party. It is acknowledging the truth.

That is a blanket statement without evidence. The players do plenty for social causes already. In fact, what they're about to do is just that. And you call it bowing to the insane left! There is insanity only on one side of the divide right now. Right? Right.

Correct, it acknowledges the truth but it does bow to a party. Do you know where all those BLM donations and money is going toward? It's not being used to improve Black Lives, the money isn't going to any black person at all. It's going to the Democrats, Bernie Sanders, Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren.

https://greatgameindia.com/defund-the-police-donations-joe-biden/

What I mean is I don't see these players talking to their local government on how to fix this problem. The players are the same as the government, they don't really want to fix the issue because well, how do you use it as a weapon in an election if the problem is fixed? That's why I said police reform will never pass because then Democrats & Republicans have one less thing to run on and divide the US with.
