I mean I am not sure Jalen Ramsey is better than Marcus Peters. He might be, but he has not played like it in 2 years. Maybe I am being overly harsh, but Jalen Ramsay is going to reset the CB market and I have no clue why, because lately his game has been hype than actual game.

I still put Ramsey up there. Last year was probably not his best year, but I think he was over playing for the jaguars and didn’t go a full 100. When he’s on top of his game, he’s still top 3 to me.

Marcus Peters awareness is high up there, but he’s going to give up some to get those pick-6s. He’s a perfect combo with marlon though. Those gambles won’t hurt as much when he’s guarding the WR2s.

I think it’s easier to put them in tiers than to individually rank them. A lot of them are bunch up imo.

S tier : Gilmore & Ramsey

A tier: Marshon Lattimore, Marlon Humphrey, Tre’Davious White, Marcus Peters, Richard Sherman

B tier: Denzel Ward, Casey Hayward, Jaire Alexander, Darius Slay

Not with the current "no tryout" rule though. They don't want any of these street free agents in a facility or around a team until they've been tested. Let's just say you test your kicker Friday and test results don't come back until Saturday morning, and they come back positive. You'd then have to find a way to get a kicker tested and with the team in about 24 hours as well. That's a tough sell. It's not as much about acclimation as it is logistics in the current environment.
I'm sure there's a logistical plan in place for this. Players know that they're on "emergency lists" for teams all the time, and I'm sure there's discussions about having these players being actively tested with at least some frequency, even if they're not on NFL teams.

Still going to be a testing process when they join the team because they're going to have to travel to join said team. That's why I wonder if teams try to hold onto a 2nd K so if anything were to happen, they don't have to worry about all of those logistics. They have a guy right there that has been actively tested all season.

Not specifically tied to K, but this is why they increased the practice squad to 16 and now allow 6 guys with unlimited service time. They want teams pulling guys from the PS, not from the street. Logistics are much easier to manage that way.

Not that I ever actually wanted to see him play a game for us because he’s terrible, but Andre Smith has opted out. Leaves us dangerously thin at T. Thinking we’ll have to try to train up Tyre Phillips as a swing T this year and reevaluate next year. Not too much left on the FA market either but would think we’ll have to sign someone for depth/competition.

We just signed Parker Ehinger as a replacement, apparently.

Played decently at RT late last year. No guarantees with him but at least some depth that can fight for a roster spot, and go to the PS if not needed off the bat.

Would imagine Orlando Brown becomes the de facto backup LT at this point though.

Jake Breeland not expected to play this year as his recovery from his torn ACL isn't as far along as all parties had hoped. I'm still #TeamScarff but I also expect us to be on the search for a veteran TE to add to the mix. Wouldn't complain if it was someone like Delanie Walker, but thinking it'll be a lower tier type of guy.

Yeah difficult to say who the backup LT would be with Hurst not around. I used to think the Ravens would normally go with the "best 5" meaning they'd kick a Guard or RT out to LT, but recently they've opted to pull from the bench. So its entirely possible that Ehringer or whoever wins the "swing tackle" job is the first guy in at either spot.

Depth at Tackle has been a concern of mine for several years now, and we've been generally pretty lucky with injuries there. Acknowledging though that its hard enough to find even competent Tackle player at a starting level, and we have two exceptional one's, so wishing for solid depth also is a bit unreasonable somewhat.

Big reason why I'm surprised they moved on from Senat at a point last year. I know injuries factored in and they needed a roster spot, but weird that they gave up on a developmental T who actually showed some ability at times over some of the other fodder that didn't last much longer.

Just taking a guess here but I'd be surprised if Phillips doesn't get a lot of work at RT during camp.

For those who wanted us to keep Michael Pierce:

  • Jul 28, 2020, 12:43 PM ET

  • MICHAEL PIERCEDL, MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Vikings NT Michael Pierce has opted out of the 2020 season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Pierce has a case of "really bad asthma." That entitles him to the $350,000 "high-risk stipend." Pierce was the only notable addition in free agency for a team that let Everson Griffen walk. Griffen does remain on the open market. Going on 28, Pierce's $3 million guaranteed will now toll to 2021. This is not the case with Pierce, but an unforeseen dynamic could be players opting out to hedge against losing their guaranteed money if COVID-19 eventually forces the cancellation of the season.

So we extended Gus for another season. We really rolling with 4 active RBs on Sundays?

I’m cool with it. I’d be cooler with just deactivating justice hill because I have zero faith he becomes anything close to nfl caliber. I think Gus while nothing special is really underrated.

Agreed on both counts. Justice is meh to me and will probably be deactivated a lot barring injury. Gus is a suitable handcuff

Not really extended. He just signed his minimum tender. He wasn't going anywhere.
Yea good point. The first blurb I saw had a headline saying he was resigned and forgot he had a tender. Maybe he thought he was worth more and wanted to wait it out?

Nope it's a set amount. All procedural. He'd typically have signed it at minicamps but since the building was closed... just later than usual.

Doesn't Hill play on special teams because we all know they barely get deactivated.
