Not quite sure how England has proven there is lots more ways to do violence than a gun - we don't have a higher proportion of death by bombs or anything - we have a knife crime problem in the U.K. But it's crazy how much easier to police and protect people from knives it is... someone goes crazy with a knife they don't kill 50+ people

I live in the uk and the only time I've even seen or held a gun was in the cadets

I've been held at knife point 3 times in my short life and while I didn't feel safe I didn't feel the need to have a gun or a knife of my own

If somebody wants to do you harm with a gun they are gonna do you harm before you have the chance to defend yourself

The article mentioned the countries with the highest 10 murder rates. Right. 8 of them are in the western hemisphere with the other 2 being in Africa. My point is these people are not going to those 3 countries they are migrating here ILLEGALLY. Yes some fleeing cuz they need to get out of there but there is a serious crime that comes here also. Liberals here are all up in arms over gun control for safety of the people but are for open borders, allowing people from terrorist countries to come here freely and sanctuary cities to protect them.

How many people from these murder countries do you have?

Also want to point out that Europe is slowly crumbling with their open border policies. There have been a lot of terrorist attacks which might not even be newsworthy since it's gonna become your new norm. You already got no go zones and sharia law courts over there. You'd think with suicide killing and all the bombings that go on over the middle east you'd think they'd be in the top 10 in murder rates but no......... so just think what if those people were coming to your country.

no offence but it sounds like youve never been to europe and know nothing about what's going on over here

ngl but you sound like youve been reading/listening to the same stuff that made that guy declare that Birmingham England was a no-white zone under the rule of sharia law

In America, most of our terrorist attacks are committed by Americans, not foreigners.
 
I do wonder, why is our nation as violent as we are. Also take into consideration how many people we send to jail. Is it not odd to us?

Errrrr, no, generally white males.... from 2011 to 2015, there were 89 terrorist attacks on American soil with 11 being committed by Muslims, but 18 targeted them. The 11 Muslim attacks made up 40% of the media coverage. The Boston Bombers made up 20%. One attack made up 1/5 of media coverage with 89 attacks. That's insane.

I don't think they'd foresee things like RPGs, 1000 round gatling guns, etc. Just because they worked on it doesn't mean they actually thought it would reach the levels it did today. I don't think you looked up the guns because some never reached America until the 1800s and most were never produced because they flat out didn't work.

Technology from today was seen as inconceivable even 20 to 30 years ago. Who ever imagined in the 70s that Google would exist?

Gun control can only work to some extent. Let's use Chicago as an example. Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the nation, but they also have the highest gun-crime rates in the United States. As gtalk said, if someone really wants to do some damage, they won't follow the gun control laws. The Vegas shooter as mentioned earlier was using an illegal firearm (an automatic rifle) in the sense that it's actually banned with the Firearm Owner Protection Act enacted in May 1986. Clearly he wasn't following the gun laws so it shows that people like him wouldn't follow new ones if they were made stricter.

Chicago is a poor example because the two neighboring states have some of the laxest gun laws in the nation.

This nation was built on genocide, slavery, warfare, segregation and gun rights. It would be nice to be like other high income first world countries where you dont have to worry about these things but we've already dug our own grave.

I think poverty, drugs and gangs skew those numbers, a lot of those shooting are black on black.

Chicago is filled with young men who won't make it to 25, gun laws or no gun laws.

Yes I did look them up and please don't question me when I alluded yhat I have. The flintrock was tried and tested and showed it worked. Just wasn't interested buyers yet. What I'm trying to tell you is the technology was being worked on and being tested and the most important thing is they already existed.
