Just watched Davyon Nixon. Really like him a lot based off a game and a half.

Super underrated player, so athletically and physically dominant. If you could pair that guy with madubuike, they would take over games together, similar profile players and they both transcend scheme and just dominate the guy in front no matter what they are being tasked with.

Nixon is honestly one of my favorite players in this class, and if DL was a higher profile need, like say we didn’t have madubuike, he would be on my short list for our first round pick.

I like him too - he's athletic, powerful, laterally quick - can 2-gap, sheds violently in the running game

some refinement lacking - i get the impression he sometimes forgets he has hands to use - like i see him use his hands really well and then sometimes he'll pass rush and it'll be all shouldering through a gap and no attempt to get clean

he also seems to get gassed a bit at the end of games (tbf he plays a lot more snaps than say Barmore - who i also like)

but he penetrates and frequently creates carnage in the pocket - and i dont see anything on tape that tells me he cant get better/more consistent technically

He gasses because his motor is ridiculous through the entirety of the game lol. Barmore I like a lot too, but I feel he’s less of the freak athlete that Nixon is.

Nixon is really awesome technique wise in taking on and anticipating double teams. He moves around a little too....shades 1, 2i and of course 3T. Having both he and madubuike would be something.

Building a young dominant DL is low key something I desperately wanna do lol, but we can’t ignore lamars needs anymore.

I wanna see us trade Zeus for quantity, I want to have an extra pick or 2 on day 2 for luxury picks

nixon's quickness to stay in his gap vs reach blocks and penetrate is really nice too - he's another crazy good athlete at the position

the idea of him and madubuike together is definitely interesting

that's what ive been saying for a while - i want more than 1 pick if we're trading orlando - 1 pick just leaves us at best in a slightly better position than if orlando leaves (at best) - has to be at least 2 picks

Depends on that one pick. If that pick is like the middle of the first round I'll take that in a heartbeat.

I don’t like this first round at all, but I LOVE the second and third in this class. Like if we trade Zeus for a top half of first and nothing else, then I hope we use it to trade back lol. This might be the worst trade up draft in recent years.

Id really like to see us rope the jags in for 2 2s

if you're picking in the top half of this draft and you're looking for any sort of defence... good luck

Yep, top 20 is basically receivers and tackles, and outside of one of those receivers im not ecstatic on any in the top 20. Devonta smith is a top 5 talent IMO but the rest I really would feel funny taking too early.

i love lots of receivers in lots of classes - and they'll always be high on my board if that's where their grades say they should be - but in the top 15 of the draft it often seems like there's better value at other positions

ive got "top 15" grades on all 4 of the top 4 wide receivers in this class (and pitts too) - but im not sure id actually want to take one that high just on a positional basis

then again who knows - we rarely get to pick that high so we never have to worry about positional value of super talented players because if one ever makes it to where we pick it's a no brainer that we take them whatever position they're at

i havent graded micah parsons or any of the highly rated linebackers so it's possible there's some high grades there but as of right now my highest graded defensive player in this class is Caleb Farley - so unless one of these linebackers or another corner are going to blow me away it's unlikely that there's going to be more than 1 or 2 players rated ahead of him right now

just generally the talent level at the top of the draft seems lower than in some other recent years (which i guess isnt exactly unpredictable given the covid season etc.) - feel like players are gonna go in the top 15 that wouldnt in other years

I’ve been playing with generators as if we traded brown for the jags 2s and a 4, they have 2 firsts and one of them first overall, and they have 2 2s and 2 4s and just an absolute boatload of picks, so I don’t think it’s too unrealistic.

I just had my favorite mock ever
1. Azeez ojulari
2. Liam eichenberg
2. Daviyon Nixon
2. Pat freiermuth
3. Ardarius Washington
4. Cam sample
4. Seth Williams
5. Tommy kraemer
6. Josh Palmer
6. Case Johnson

I think pat and Nixon are probably unrealistic but eh. Still fun, that adds a lot of defensive front talent and also addresses many needs with good talents

It's bonkers to me that in such a loaded OT class some teams might trade multiple picks to get a decent one with a huge contract looming.

Kwity Paye will end up my number one defensive player, honestly he's above the rest for me.

I’ve got ojulari ahead but with the same grade - can’t begrudge anyone with paye at the top

I don’t love the top corners in this draft (although so far it looks like there’s some decent talent through day 2) so hard to see who else would come out on top of the top EDGE for me...

I do not like Micah parsons lol

It sounds bonkers because we’ve had an elite OT tandem for nearly 3 years and generally have had quality tackles in Baltimore basically forever. Most teams are the exact opposite and can’t find one let alone 2 tackles to save their lives.

teams with young franchise qbs want them protected, teams want minimal needs going into the draft. Star players already on big deals get traded for massive hauls all the time, the strengths of the coming draft class don’t ever seem to be much of a factor, and a big contract looming means nothing when guys get traded and have to be extended right away, Orlando still has a year to work with which is a major factor.
