I think I'll trust Chris Simms over Walter Football any day, Walter gave the Raiders a higher grade for reaching on Leatherwood then us getting Bateman at 27.

gotta be honest i havent watched much of him, i heard he has no production but tested through the roofs and i was extremely scared. Got something to watch at least

per PFF

Oweh may not have recorded a sack last year, but he was still making a big impact in the pass rush. We actually saw real improvement from 2019, as his overall grade went from 74.6 to 85.4 this past season. He boasted the single freakiest pro day at the edge position I’ve ever seen and only started playing football in 2016.

I overreacted with the Oweh pick because I didn’t know much about him and saw zero sacks, but the more I learn about him, the more I like the pick. He’s being compared to Sweat and Dupree and is an absolute freak athletically. Excited to see how Wink uses him

Also, I had no idea Danielle had 1 sack in his last season before the NFL. That’s insane with how talented he is now

One thing I saw Walter Football mention is Bateman’s hands not being good. Nowhere else online said that and actually state that he has good hands lol. And people worrying about his speed when he ran a 4.39???

Both players have great motors and keep their heads in the game. Both players filled obvious needs for us while being great value as well. I’m stoked.

Rossi... what's your opinion on Oweh? Can you give me a comfort level?
@RavensMania

  • Height-weight-speed freak - and i mean like rare freakish athleticism
  • high effort, chasing down plays from the backside (with the speed to actually chase WRs down from behind)
  • Decent run-defender - was living off his athleticism a bit and his pad level can rise too high but can stack and shed with violence and force
  • Powerful, fast
  • Change of direction and length allows him to adjust vs jukes and elusive ball carriers to make tackles - was really productive in 2020 in run defence
  • Has powerful hands when he connects – intuitive with his hands to get clean at the top of his rush – not super technical but has reps that show power – flashes really good hand usage but it’s inconsistent at best
  • His biggest issue right now (for me) is that he doesnt seem to rush with a plan and hasn't developed a signature move yet...
  • At the moment he wins with absurd quickness – first step explosion to immediately challenge the outside and can dip and bend with force to flatten
  • He's raw, especially as a pass rusher - but the movement and frame are off the charts incredible

We honestly could have a very fast, great young defense in a couple years if all comes to plan. Madubuike/Queen/Harrison/Humphrey/Oweh

0 sacks means 0 sacks regardless of how its twisted.. idc about pressures when u have 0 sacks along with it.. we talking disruptive? Clowney was disruptive, best run defender and still had a few sacks yet many disliked him.. ill be convinced once i see him do something in nfl, till then he a 0 sack shawty.

Bateman not 4.3.. actually most likely every single pro day 40 time was inaccurate.
