The Battling, The Injuries and More Injuries

Bateman looks like the real deal, when he is used. He does have plenty of after catch yards. I like him a lot.

See ya Sammy.

Why was Huntley, in 3 Qtrs, able to surpass our PPG average of the last month? The injuries were still there , Roman was still there, and the Browns have the 2nd ranked sack leader in the NFL. Yet he played well. Had it not been for a boneheaded call by Harbs , would have had a shot to tie the game with a 2pt conversion as well.

What decision was boneheaded?

Huntley still had a chance to tie the game with the 2-pt try. Huntley just didn't convert it.

I hope not because that's not analytics, it's basic adding up.

You're down 24-15. You need a TD and a field goal.

You're down 24-16. You need a TD and a field goal or a 2pt try.

You're down 24-17. You need a TD.

So you either go for 2 on one of your TDs or you might as well literally kneel. You definitely should do it on the first one because then you can adjust your gameplay to success or failure instead of playing blind.

This isn't analytics, It's elementary adding

harbs was just asked about it in his presser and he called it a non-decision
there's a reason all the coaches do it now

He was more rigorous with play calling, he trusted more in team play than in his ego.

and the wow factor, of course

Bateman 7 / 103. First 100 yard game.

He's a baller and there is no doubt about that. I'm looking forward to him having a strong finish to the season and into next year. Lots of promise.

Well all i want to know about is how Lamar is doing. Shit ,season is over without him. It may be over anyway unless we can get in at 9-8

I don't know how this team continues to find a way to fight and almost win, but damn the never give up attitude just shows me this team would be dominant without the injuries. It sucks we lost Lamar, but that was a dirty play and hopefully that dude is suspended. I'm not really sure what happened on that last play but terrible play call there if that was the play call when we need six yards Roman. As a OC, it's your job to know the all out blitz is coming, bring in an extra blocker there, same mistake that cost us against Pittsburgh on the 2 point. Bring in an extra blocker, Watt is blocked and we get that 2 point and win. Same here, bring an extra blocker to give the play time to develop, Bateman is open for the first and boom Tucker range.

that's not how those plays work structurally - you bring in an extra blocker for the watt play and they just add another guy to the rush or you lose the deception advantage of the play that gets someone open... andrews isnt open if watt is blocked

and the 4th and 6 was fine - the browns blitzed which meant we had 1v1 across the field and huntley got it to the guy on the hot route hoping he'd be able to make a play

the browns corner made a better play - it's as simple as that - it's not a bad playcall, it's not even really on the playcall at all because of the blitz there and huntley was hot so had to get rid of the ball

also doesnt help that the 2 best eligible extra blockers we have were both inactive today with injuries

Not enough people are concerned about this imo

It’s very interesting that’s all I’m saying

The funny thing about everyone shitting on Roman's 4th and 6 "call" (Huntley's hot route read) is that it's exactly what everyone has been screaming for to beat the blitz for weeks.

Too much time there though to go for 2 on your first one imo.. unless they planned on going for 2 both times
