The Random Thought Thread

Taking my boy to the Christmas Eve game! It’s his first game! Y’all I teared up a little when I hit that confirm button. This is a really big deal to me, any of y’all been to a ravens game around Christmas? Do they do anything special for it?
I will never forget when my stepdaughter (age 6) begged and begged me to take her to an Orioles game. I got great seats, the weather was perfect. During the second inning, she says, “Is it almost over, I am ready to go home.” I also remember her mom made her swear, that if she had to go to the bathroom, that she would not give me a hard time about going into the men’s room, so I could stand outside the stall and stand guard. My step daughter swore up and down that it would be no problem at all. My wife also made me swear under penalty of death that I would not let her go to the women's bathroom by herself. As soon as we walk into the stadium she is jumping around like a fish having to go to the bathroom and refuses to go into the men’s room like her mother said. She was begging me to go into the women’s room. I was not feeling it and talking to her about how it was against her mom’s wishes and how she would have my head on a platter. Thank God a very sweet older lady was listening to our conversation and offered to help me out and took her in and watched over her and bought her right back out. Needless to say, my experience was not a good one. I hope yours is the complete opposite. I will never forget the first Colts game my father took me to, I was about the same age and it was Johnny Unitas‘ last season. It is a great memory. I miss my dad!

Juju or Jakobi would be perfect compliments to Bateman and Duv. No need to splurge on WR with how little we throw to WR. Just give me someone who can move the chains

I don't think The Ravens need another possession/slot receiver given how I think Roman may be using Likely and Kolar along with Andrews going forward this year and next year if he's(Roman) still around . Even Josh Oliver seems to be solid as well as a receiver and could be a guy The Ravens re-sign next off season. If anything I think The Raven just need another deep threat which why I think they signed Desean Jackson and Andy Isabella.

Outside of Nick Boyle most of The Ravens tight ends are pretty athletic and can be lined up out wide as receivers. Honestly if they can just get something out of Desean Jackson or Andy Isabella to go along with the receivers they have now their passing attack could be hard to defend currently. Jackson already showed he still has the speed and it sucks he's dealing with injury right now but that's just about most of the free agent wideouts issue that were signed this off-season so he just falling right in line . I'm excited to see how Roman uses Charlie Kolar whom gives the receiver position more size and reliable hands.

Getting healthier! Don't think we've been this high yet this season?

I remember my 1st baseball game. It was a doubleheader and I remember before the 2nd game they announced a new guy named Reggie Jackson as our DH and I remember turning to y uncle and asking who was that cuz the crowd was cheering like crazy and my uncle it was a new player we picked and he was really really good. He came up and skied a shot and I'm like this is deep and it's out of here..............then the shortstop caught it.

100% need to add some speed to the WR room - but not just in a they run fast 40 but can’t do anything else type way lol

Don’t need to be blazing fast but someone who’s fast enough to push vertically

Speaking of our old receivers, if we had Boldin, Mase, and Smith Sr., not necessarily in their prime but as they were when they played for the Ravens, we couldn't be stopped.
Amazing value

Mike Florio said, “No offense to Lamar Jackson, but Justin Fields is the greatest running Quarterback since Michael Vick.” First off, I don’t believe that. Second, didn’t Lamar already take down most of Vick’s rushing records? Does anyone here agree that Justin Fields is a better rushing Quarterback than Lamar?

If there’s one MF I’d pay to sock in his face it’s Florio

Florio wasn't a fan of Lamar during the draft. He's an idiot.

and Lamar isn't a running quarterback, he's a pocket quarterback who has the ability to run and run like the best of them.

If someone cant see how far above lamar is at running the ball than fields, most likely they dnt know what theyre looking at.. its literally not even close like not even a little bit. Fields can rush for 1800 yards and he still wouldnt be a better runner. What lamar does with ball, takes skill ….. what fields does, only takes speed.

Zach Wilson has 9 completions today, their punter had 10 punts. Have a fucking day @Mainejet , get some

Just looking ahead to 2023 and the needs...

QB - Should be fine here. Will either tender Huntley or let Brown and a cheap vet compete for the backup job. Big question is obviously Lamar's contract.

RB - Hopefully Dobbins and Gus are fully healthy. Gus' contract might need some work. Would look to retain a veteran (e.g. Drake or Hill) as some cover AND add an early day 3 pick. No one here should be overly expensive.

WR - The big need once again. Bateman has been okay so far but should still have room to ascend, but it also coming off of injury. Need to add a high draft pick and some veteran cover ideally.

TE - No issues whatsoever here. Would honestly be open to retaining Oliver depending on price, but that's lower on the need list.

OL - G is the biggest question here. Powers is a FA and Zeitler is to the point where the contract needs to be looked at. C is obviously fine and the T depth is solid even if they choose to move on from Moses.

DL - Campbell is probably going to retire so this is likely to be a decently high need. Madubuike and Washington have played really well and Jones has shown some flashes, but going to need to add some depth if not a starter. I personally like some of the options in the FA class (e.g. Zach Allen, Dean Lowry, etc.).

ILB - Easier said than done, but assuming they lock up Roquan, this position needs nothing for 2023.

OLB - Hopefully Ojabo comes on and Oweh gets his head out of his ass. Would ideally add a vet to go with those 2 and Bowser. If Houston wants to keep coming back, he's the perfect option.

CB - Could be a big need depending on Peters. Think the money could get tight here and we could be forced to make a decision. Stephens and Pepe have had moments but are ideally more for CB3/4 depth.

S - Clark is likely gone, leaving Williams, Hamilton, and Stone to run the back end.

ST - Not that he's in any danger in year 2, but I'd add a veteran on the minimum at P to push Stout a little bit. He's had moments but has been quite inconsistent.
