The Defence, The Refs and The Soul-Crushing, Heart-Breaking Injuries

I like Pickens and liked him in the draft, but Ojabo is a top 10 pick that fell because of injury. Ojabo was always being drafted ahead of Pickens.

True. In the long run, Ojabo might be better. I’m just talking short-sightedness. This offense would’ve been fine with Pickens, Duvernay and Demarcus Robinson this year

No it would not. All you would see is Richard running in the backfield to line up in the slot to block

If still doesn’t make sense making the Ojabo pick when they knew all to well the WR corps was bad and thin. Duv really saved them by upping his play beyond expectations , but now we are seeing him fade. In a different circumstance I’m cool with it, but EDC has put all the pressure on Lamar to perform with less. Meanwhile Pickens is already outperforming Batemen’s rookie pace.

Pickens might’ve been a bum here with the way we “develop” WRs

They're never going to go need over BPA. I get the desire for Pickens because I liked him a lot too, but a healthy Ojabo is significantly higher on my board than Pickens and I'm sure that was the case for most teams. It was opportunity to pounce on a potentially premier talent.

Lamar said he went to check on Stanley after the game and he said Stanley was pretty good and Stanley joked, “Just don’t roll up on me again.” That sounds promising.

Yea I get it, its why they’ve been so competitive over the years. I can live with that normally , but not this year, not when they knew this WR corps was so bad. You gotta adjust strategy.

Hamilton may be done for the season. They said they will know more tomorrow but it looks like an ACL.
Woah, who said that?

With today's win over the Panthers, Lamar Jackson has defeated 29 of the 31 other teams. The two teams he hasn't beat? Da Bears and the Packers, both of which were games he missed due to injury.

Didn't look close to an ACL. He was reaching more in the hamstring area the whole time.

I guess it always could be but I'd be shocked based on how everything looked visually with his reaction.

Has Duvernay faded or have they just decided to stop targeting him?

He only had two targets over the last 2 games and a total of 9 over the last 4 and it's not like they're loaded with receivers to take targets away from him. I think he must have said something to upset Roman.

I'd argue that's why teams like the Eagles (reaching for a guy like Reagor) struggled like they did until they made the investment to fix that mistake. I like Pickens but let's not pretend like there weren't issues there, so it's not like he was some no brainer pick. Drafting for need is why bad teams stay bad. It's something that we have to fix but that doesn't mean just drafting a guy no matter what.

injury issues
character issues (some of which came out today at the end of the bengals game)
route tree

you love the fire, you love the talent, you love the traits - i think the tape said 1st rounder, but there were mitigating factors that pushed him down

with ojabo you're looking at...

raw and underdeveloped in the run-game
coming off an injury

but the pass rush traits and talent are outrageous - the tape for Ojabo (according to the EDC himself) said top 10 pick, i would have said more like top 15 but clearly a tier (or 2 or 3) higher than Pickens in prospect terms

why do you think that.
I literally read it on the Ravens official website, I just went back to the article and it was removed. That is good news. Maybe they jumped the gun on that, in the article. I hope we get more positive news on Hamilton and Stanley tomorrow.

@lost said he was standing up in the locker room. Must have seen it in one of the post game videos.

That should be an excellent sign. No way someone with an ACL injury would be anywhere near the standing in the locker room

:07 seconds in you see him in a Brooklyn jersey
