2018 Secondary

our best chances are probably: ronnie stanley, ryan jensen, brandon williams, cj mosley, jimmy smith, justin tucker, sam koch
Being that we are a small market team makes it much harder to get in on the fan vote. Now the media isn't talking about them either outside of Jimmy, Mosely and Tucker on occasion. It's those three that I feel have the best opportunity this year.

i think ronnie stanley's got a chance because of the injuries to jason peters and tyron smith and joe thomas
i think ryan jensen's got a chance because there's so few good centers in the league
i think jimmy's got a chance because hes been playing so well that he's constantly on the pff graphics and ike's best corners lists
i think brandon williams has got a chance but he'd need to finish some of his pressures and turn them into stats - he's behind donald, cox, hicks, campbell and a few others in popularity probably atm
id be surprised if CJ doesnt get it
the injuries dont matter for stanley cause peters and smith in NFC? I thought pro bowl picked players from AFC and NFC then all pro were selected from the entire NFL? Either way i want to see jimmy make the all pro team

im not sure if it is afc vs nfc - it hasnt been for a few years now - i dont know if they've gone back to it
but if they have then...
still joe thomas is out, andrew whitworth is now in the nfc, donald penn hasnt been great this year, duane brown hardly played for the texans and now plays in seattle anyways, taylor lewan is still there but more than 1 tackle makes it per conference if it is a by conference system and of course villaneuva is also competition

and if not then still:

tyron smith out, jason peters out, trent williams has been hobbled all year, bakhtiari has been injured all year, taylor decker has only just been activated by the lions, terron armstead has been pretty strong as has andrew whitworth

so id say in the entire nfl this year ronnie's competition would be: whitworth, lewan, armstead, penn, trent williams (who might get in on name value but has hardly been able to practice all year), bakhtiari (who again has been hobbled all year but might get in on name value), villanueva (has the benefit of a big market and the standing for the national anthem in terms of fan votes) which leaves 8 left tackles vying for 6 spots in the pro bowl and id say ronnie has as strong a case as any of them... there's a couple of right tackles you could throw into the mix but generally right tackles dont go to the pro bowl...

ronnie has held his own this season so he deserves it, however you know it takes the NFL 2 seasons to notice how well our players are doing

Opinion time: So, the Ravens wanted to trade a fourth round pick to the Cowboys for the rights to the fourth overall pick in the draft, but the Cowboys wanted a third. The Ravens ultimately said no and selected Ronnie Stanley and Bronson Kaufusi. We all know Jaylen Ramsey went one pick ahead to the Jaguars.

In hindsight, Kaufusi likely won't develop into anything worth talking about, so would you trade Ramsey for Stanley knowing you could potentially have the best corner duo in the NFL?

No.
This way next year we'll have one of the best LTs and still one of the best CB duos in the league.
And Ramsey is a dickhead.

No. I agree with what @allblackraven just said, but in addition, you wouldn’t be 29bmorebird22

i still want ronnie coz i can tell you right now we'd be in a dark place as a franchise without a left tackle - darker than any of that time with no secondary

i mean the jags have jaylen ramsey and cam robinson and we've got ronnie stanley and marlon humphrey even forgetting kaufusi who looks like a wasted pick (and i dont know why we should expect him to grow and improve given that he was old coming out) id still take our 2 over their 2 at those positions

Hard for me since im a big ramsey fan. We are pretty deep at cb, but if it was beginning of season or last season id most def do that trade

i think for me as much as we were haunted by a bad secondary for a few years i fear what would have happened without anyone protecting joe's blindside - the one thing though that jaylen ramsey has going for him is that he's buzzy and brings attention to his team and is obviously vocal and has a swagger - i would love us to get that swagger back that ray and ed and sizzle and smithy have

Yeah, Hurst certainly couldn’t do it

Ronnie Harrison will be available in '18 draft

Exactly!! We need that bad as ever right now. He is like the steve smith of the defense

It’s my only regret because I do think we’ve come away with two really phenomenal picks in stead in marlon and Ronnie - and marlon certainly sets the tone on the field and he had a swagger about him at bama but I don’t know if he’s vocal yet - it’s my biggest excitement for when marlon starts because I really think he’ll come into his own when he starts playing every drive

Stanley Jensen and Jimmy smith will get consideration. Stanley and Jensen are 2 building blocks for the Oline. Throw in Nelson and get Yanda back and the Oline is dominant again.
