Coaching Carousel 2026

not an inspiring coaching search so far lol

the interview request for klint kubiak the only interesting one so far
davis webb feels too soon - but if you're looking for a young potential prodigy then he's interesting

but weaver, joseph and nagy are uninspiring options in terms of gaining a schematic advantage

i wonder if they're partly just filling the docket with guys until some of the playoff options are available to interview:
Joe Brady
Mike LaFleur
Nick Caley
Jessie Minter
Jeff Hafley
Robert Saleh
Chris Shula

those guys are all unable to be interviewed yet and i imagine a bunch of those guys will be of interest to the ravens
Davis Webb? West Virginia qb?

Yeah this is what feels like. Though we haven't requested an interview with any of them but Klint Kubiak I believe.

as in we cant request interviews with any of them yet because all the teams participating in the wildcard rounds are blocked until next week i think

ravens have interviews set up with Webb and Joseph from the Broncos and Kubiak from the Seahawks because as the 1 seeds, they have a bye and are allowed to interview this week

Saleh just doesn’t do it for me nor Joe Brady

They’re casting a wide net, as they should. They know they have the top job on the market. They’ll be methodical about it and talk to as many people as they can.
Yeah I don’t see this as the same as when we hired Harbaugh and only interviewed 6 people. Granted they also did a lot of league wide vetting and intel gathering but this time they’re going wide. No way Steve will be on all these interviews, will he?

so far it's a big range of types of candidate too

young "prodigy" offensive guy
newest Shanahan tree playcaller
3 former HCs with coordinator jobs - 2 defensive, 1 offensive
1 former ravens defensive coach with HC traits and CEO style

they're going to check on every archetype it seems

now that you can do virtual interviews, the only thing you lose from interviewing lots of candidates on a preliminary basis is time...

I do think whoever we bring will need to have some of the Harbaugh aspect to him. In that interview Steve had this year with John, Steve was very clear that he wants the coach to be the face of the franchise. The presence of the coach and how they deal with the media is certainly going to be critical. I actually think Weaver has a chance from that perspective because he sounds very polished.

I’m also surprised Stefanski isn’t listed yet

I wouldn’t be surprised if Eric going to pick these peoples brains on scouting and draft picks during these interviews too.
