2018 Secondary

which players would we lose out on though? i like our day 2 picks...
but lattimore is an enticing prospect given how good he is already but he also has an injury history and was just dealing with an ankle for 2 weeks too

Someone wrote we attempted to move up for lattimore. If so, we would have to move from 16 to 10. I’m not sure what the trade value chart is that but maybe a third? If so, I’ll gladly sacrifice the Wormley pick for a lockdown corner. But hey, hindsight 20/20

You would right now but what about in 4 years time when they all develop - it’s impossible to say right now of course but the different value out of lattimore vs Humphrey + won’t really be solved for at least 2 more years

And ngl but around draft time I’d heard that we were trying to trade up for reddick not lattimore but that’s by the by now anyway coz we traded for neither

I must say I really like Chuck Clark. He plays fast and instinctive, he doesn't make mistakes. I'll watch this guy in the future because he looks like a future key piece of the defense that few are going to know around the league but we in Bmore will be very thankful to have him. His presence alone allows us to do much more and to show a lot of different looks on D.

With him and Canady that makes 2 very nice finds in the 6th round.

I was upset we passed on Isaiah Ford but one player is doing nothing while the other is creeping into the rotation in one of the best pass defenses in the league. That's why we say in ozzie we trust

yeah im not sure if he'll ever be good as a pure safety but he looks like the successor to the dimebacker + special teams leader role that anthony levine has excelled in which is more than you could really ask for out of a 6th round pick

My thoughts as well. I was really shocked that we passed on Ford but Clark is really showing perfet understanding.

A player I really wanted in the draft throughout the process and I can't believe dropped was Desmond King and he has played really well for the Chargers. The team has a bunch of young solid corners already but man I loved watching him play.

Other than lattimore i really wanted reddick or ruben foster so i wouldve been fine with that! Foster is beasting but for reddick its taking him a but longer

They have a nice young team! Afc gonna be tough in near future

I seem to remember a lot of whining during the draft after Clark was picked, a lot of "we just wasted this pick" (even though wasting a 6th is nearly impossible)

yes there was a lot of complaining that we "wasted" a pick on a special teamer...
but in the same way i complained about the wormley pick im not gonna be salty or deny it when the players we picked seem to pan out better than expected

It's annoying to think that if we had lattimore instead of humphrey none of us would be worried about him vs antonio brown.

I mean Antonio Brown does a lot of his damage in the slot... That sounds like Canaday/Webb territory.

The team has who they have it's not like they passed the guy. And Lattimore has been beat quite a bit. He had a pick yesterday but before that he got torched 2-3 times it's not like he was shut down. Both just started their career you don't know which one will be the better player as of yet.

Reddick isn't the kind of player who can come in and curbstomp the league, he's gotta settle into his niche because he's so undersized and has a natural edge defenders skillset. I think reddick is gonna be really good later on.

One thing I'm happy about, is my crusade against Jalen tabor is looking like the right choice.

it was the same with Canady the year before.
I can say I watched a lot of tape on Canady. What I came away with was that he had some potential upside, but he was raw. He has obviously put in the work, because we now have a bunch of really good young corners in Humphrey Canady Young and Hill. Young has proven that he can play well as a slot and boundary corner. Canady although he is pkaying really well in the slot now, played mainly boundary corner in college, although he did play both. Hill is a playmaker and Humphrey is going to be a very good corner. He has some incredible instincts that can’t be fought, looking forward to watching him grow and learn.
