gameplan needs to evolve when its proven to not work.

the running game is actually the key to succes against high powerd offenses.

running game burns the clock, keep the defense fresh, limits the possibilities at turnovers and keeps the opposing offense off the field.
exactly what you want.

When you are playing defenses that are not ranked 31st and 32nd against the run, everything about a running game becomes more difficult to sustain. There are less first downs converted, less third and short situations, less time eaten up, etc.

If Marty refuses to stay ahead of defenses because of the nominal success they've had over such a short window, then they've lost before the clock even started running.

That’s how innovation happens.

Too bad we have Marty, otherwise we probably would’ve innovated the shit out of this offense, like with literally any other OC
But... It's Flacco ruining the offense, not Marty. Marty is essential to Lamar's development

Chiefs,Falcons,Browns and bucs have allowed more rushing 1st down then the raiders.
Falcons and Chiefs are giving up more yards per carry then both the raiders and the bengals.
Browns are giving up more yards per carry then the bengals.
Falcons, Chiefs, Bucs and Browns have given up more rushing TDs then the raiders.
Browns have given up more rushing TDs then the bengals.
Bucs are tied with the bengals and chiefs and falcons have only given up 1 less.

Let me guess.
You only looked at total rush yards and thought that is all you needed to jump to a conclusion?

One main reason why it didn't lead to a TD is because he was too busy looking backward at the defender while running forward. That kills your hustle no matter how fast or slow you may run.
I was thinking the exact same thing when I was watching him after that catch.

While that is true about playing two of the worst defenses; you also have to keep in mind that since the "change" from Flacco to Lamar, the Ravens ENTIRE offense has received a fresh spark, energy, and enthusiasm that they haven't shown in weeks. As a result, that FINALLY got the bleeding to stop (3 game losing streak) and the momentum train moving in their favor and has catapulted them to be 2-0. Roll with the hot hand!
You are spot on with how I feel. Why would you not run with this success until teams can prove they can stop it?

it's awesome that we could just impose our will on a defence - we knew we could run all over them so we spent a half not bothering - then we decided it was time to get serious and just dominated them

it's like we just flipped a switch and said "nope, game is too close... we're gonna play for real now"

Yep, that is why I am not completely trashing Marty even though I am not a fan. If we could have built a bigger lead in the first half of that game and won with keeping Lamar in the pocket last week. It may have worked to keep teams guessing on possible game plans. I will give Marty credit for switching to the Cincy game play in the second half of the Oakland game when the score was close. I don' think Oakland was ready for it in the second half when it came at them. Two things I noticed. First that smash mouth style wore down Cincy's and Oakland's defense and kept our's pretty fresh. Second, it looks like it was igniting a spark in our team that I haven't been seeing.

from the little snippets of audio it sounds like tbh Harbs and Yanda were the biggest advocates for going back to the run during half-time etc

Roll with Lamar. He scares the shit outta me sometimes but I do think he's the future and that he gives us the best chance to win. Go with the hot hand and the man with momentum.

You gotta admit though that's the fun part about being a Ravens fan. Wouldn't want it any other way tbh LMAO.
