THIS is why I want us to start Lamar. There are maybe 3 or 4 other QBs who can pull this crap off. Roll to his right, dodge immediately, and then seemingly effortlessly throw a dart. Chris Moore fights for that ball, that's a TD. He had sound mechanics there, and if he can ever do that consistently with his deep ball, he is going to be impossible to game plan for.

He's got a ways to go, but there's too much to like with him.

That play was absolutely beautiful, you couldn’t ask anything more of lamar there, perfect escape, juking that guy on the outside and then setting his feet again, just textbook on how to perfectly execute a scrambling qb play.

And then Moore blows it, when typically he’s been one to make those catches and it’s the routine ones he blows.

It's not only offense that changed - it's entire team. There's undeniable different vibe and energy on the field, D is playing well, Harbs looks like a coach with a purpose (yes, I said it), even our board is better place to be in the last few weeks, despite all the QB arguments going on.

It's again fun watching the Ravens and it seems it's fun playing, too.
Tell ya what though, it's been a long, long time, maybe 7 or 8 years, since we had legitimate QB arguments in Baltimore. :D

This just tweeted by PFF:
QB rushing yards:

Josh Allen: 490 total yards
Designed runs: 89
Scrambles: 401

Lamar Jackson: 469 total yards
Designed runs: 418
Scrambles: 51

and all this tells me is that PFF has no idea how to grade or create stats for the zone-read because they are quite clearly including the zone-read in designed running which is crazy...

but it's also an accurate representation of how little lamar scrambles to run comparative to his actual rushing numbers

it also tells me that Josh Allen literally takes off at the first sign of trouble in the pocket
This is really re-assuring to me, and I have no problem with a running QB, especially if the runs are designed. I'd consider zone-read as designed, though.

So Harbs was obviously milking it a bit when he said we've got the best qb situation in the league but with the quotes from today's pressers we 100% have the best qb room in the league...

In response to whether this is his team, Jackson said: “this is our team, all of us together.”

Flacco: “I’ve obviously had five weeks to think about it and prepare myself for the possibility. This is my situation right now and I’m going to do my best to handle it the right way.”

Jackson: “Flacco is always helping me out. Him and RG.”

But... But. I thought Flacco and Lamar HATED each other

Because they feel we have a better chance to win with Flacco.
What the hell makes anyone think that? All you have to do is look at how Flacco has played injured over the years, and look at how he’s played rusty, and overall how he’s played in general... not good
Really? You really don't?

I just hope the moves we make in the off season dont stunt Lamars growth.
i really don’t

You are preaching to the choir

Also keep in mind any concerns about Lamar are fine if you want him to start right now. If you want to play Joe even just for the rest of the year even in tandem with Lamar to protect the young guy, and because you have concerns about run heavy offenses that ride a mobile quarterback... you’ll get pushback ranging from criticisms saying you’re unfairly trashing a rookie quarterback to ridiculously being called racist.

That's quite alright; I would be offended if this crew didn't bust my balls at least once in a while :D

Joe’s made plays like that before

I’m really impressed with Lamar - his play is one thing. But what really impresses me is how he carries himself and his attitude.

At this point I understand the decision to stick with Lamar. Joe’s been out and even if he can play, no guarantee he’ll be up to speed and be 100%. It’s good to have him as a backup at least now.

But... I still wonder if he’s going to sit the whole game or not. Especially come playoff time and two minute drills , or if we fall behind badly.

If he has it's been a long time since. I haven't seen him evade a free rusher after escaping the pocket and keep his eyes downfield. The Joe I know would have thrown it away, maaayyybe checked it down if there was a clearly open target.
