Eh, to me the Floyd signing is akin to what the Pats did with Josh Gordon last year. Floyd's talent is not the problem, he's had off the field issues. If he's over them, great, give him a chance to prove himself. If not or he sucks now, the contract is likely cheap so cut his ass and be done with it.

Whether it's good or bad is tbd in my eyes

How are Josh Gordon and Flyod even in the same ballpark, talent wise?

lol im telling ya.. but i dnt think he is comparing the talent level cause its not close, maybe just the off the field issues.floyd hasnt shown anyone anything for anyone whatsoever to even believe that he is good. If someone was to bring up floyd a week ago, the whole forum would be saying how bad of a wr he is and how we shouldnt even consider looking at him.... but ofcourse now that we signed him opinions will change. i hope he can contribute somehow...i mean wouldnt i bet my money that he will so im not even gonna “ if” this situation to death

Pretty much this. Gordon and Floyd aren’t comparable talent wise. But that doesn’t mean Floyd lacks talent.

He’s not the default best WR on the team or anything. But I think we’re just giving him a chance on the cheap.

Nothing wrong with that in my eyes. If he fucks up/sucks then cut his ass

Yea im cool with giving him a try. Not like we are gonna lose something big. I dnt even remember how he plays on the field tbh

dont know if this has been mentioned but maxx got vet minimums salary - so we're likely only getting 2 comp picks
The thing that annoyed me wasn't the prospect of not getting a comp. At that price why didn't we keep him on the team? He wasn't that much worse than Boyle in the blocking department was he? He had decent hands too.

maxx is a decent blocker but stylistically was blocking as more of a fullback at times - so he's fine but replaceable... boyle is arguably the best blocking tight end in the league and is able to block 1v1 on the edge in pass pro at times as well as pulling, dominating on the strong side, and lead blocking

its not that maxx wasnt good, its more of how good boyle was

Keep in mind it takes two sides to make a deal. If the money is the same, why would he come here to be a 4th TE when he could go to Arizona, be a 1 or 2 on the depth chart, and play well to earn a nice contract after this year

This is true. Maxx Williams just has to hope that The Cardinals feature tightends in the passing games because their head coach Kliff Kingsbury didnt use tightends in such a fashion in college. If that turns out to be true then Williams will be spending most of his time blocking on the field .

Because we didn't need four TEs.

Yea now that gronk is retired he is def top 5.. what about kittle? idk about stats but the few games i watched of him, he was doing a great job. Not sure if he is considered a good blocking TE though

Hold tf up... Gerald McCoy released? Dude, we gotta do whatever we can to make that move, damn young guys not getting playing time and damn the age and damn the logjam, that dude would basically guarantee that our pass rush will be productive. Put him out there every third down and keep him fresh and our defense will be the best in the league without question.

And with this post, you can GUARANTEE that McCoy will NOT be a Raven. Book it.

I know.. but it’s nice to dream. But really considering how weak our pass rush has been for years, this would be a strong win now kind of move, like it would show we have full faith in lamar and we wanna make a run at a super bowl in the next 2 years. It would be a weddle-esque signing where we address a weak point with a future HOF veteran who’s still playing well on the cheap
