so... Where does that put Kawhi in the top players of all time?

This might make him one of the 20 greatest players of all time. He's won two Finals MVP, just went on one of the greatest individual playoff performances in NBA history. Two defensive player of the year awards. He's busted two threepeats. This finals MVP makes him the best player in the world right now. KD may be a better scorer and Curry a better shooter, but his offensive game is so well rounded, and he's an elite defender, rebounder for his size, and an underrated passer.

Oh well.. FUCK YOU WARRIORS. SUCK A COCK

Dear warriors fans,
No one cares that Kevin Durant got hurt. Kawhi got his revenge for 2017 when you fuckers intentionally broke him when he was beating you like a drum. I feel bad for the original core of Steph, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, they don’t deserve this crap(well Draymond kinda does), but with KD being a little bitch and Demarcus Cousins trying to take the easy way out, you had a loss fucking coming.

I hope Durant gets well real soon and hope he never wins a ring again. And Demarcus I hope you sign a max deal with the Hornets. You deserve to be with that incompetent franchise.

Durant and Demarcus can go fuck themselves.

Signed,
Every American not in SF and Candada

Let me start this off by saying get well soon Klay. You’re easily my favorite player on the warriors and for my money the best SG in the NBA.....

That said, warriors fans are now complaining that Danny Green intentionally hurt Klay.... no. No he didnt. He didn’t make body contact. That was a basketball play and Green went up to him later to apologize. It’s not what you did to Leonard two years ago. You lost the right to complain about that when you defended ZaZa and most of them did

LMAO... Jeremy Lin got a ring before Melo.

It's gonna be quite interesting to see how the Warriors replenish their roster after announcing their intentions to give both KD and Klay the max.

Durant will be a Knick.

The Knicks would be idiots to still not offer him the max deal. I never believe we will get players, but I'd still bet money he signs with us this off season. Too many signs and he's recovering from his surgery in NY.

Draymond is also due for a deal after next year.

I personally think KD (unfortunately) remains a Warrior because they can offer the most even if he opts in to his final year. However, the interesting point is where KD will use the opt-in as a LAST RESORT so methinks he'll sign the max that the Warriors can offer him. Though I would love nothing more for him to leave GS.

How many max or supermax slots can a team have? I think Klay wants the max. The warriors can't really offer Durant a lot.

In addition, below is an excerpt from an article that goes in detail about this (https://www.slamonline.com/nba/dubs-intend-to-offer-kevin-durant-klay-thompson-full-max-deals/):

"Durant, given his 10 years of service time, is eligible for a max contract starting at 35% of next year’s projected $109 million salary cap. That represents a deal worth around $220 million through 2023-24.

Thompson, having just missed out on an All-NBA nod this year, will have to settle for 30%, or $190 million over the course of the deal, given that he meets neither the 10-year service time threshold or designated veteran eligibility.

While the projected payroll numbers seem astronomical at first glance, the franchise may well be able to offset some or all of the increased luxury payments after moving into the team’s new facility across the bay in San Francisco next season.

Eventually, however, the team will need to look long and hard about how it would fill out a full rotation with so much money tied up in their starting lineup.

If given full max deals, Durant would earn $38 million next season, while Thompson would earn $33 million. That’s over $110 million tied up between those two and guard Stephen Curry.

Thanks! But I still don't get how they're allowed to sign both to max contracts. I always thought you can only sign two players(1 you drafted plus 1 external) to max. Curry signed a supermax and this means they can sign only Durant. Or do supermax not count?

I think it's just the timing of their contracts even though Durant can opt-out of his final year and become a UFA. Since KD has been there for at least 3 years, GS has bird rights to him. What the hell is bird rights, you ask? Basically, it's the ability of the incumbent team to go OVER the cap to re-sign its players. Curry got the supermax because he got an all-NBA team which Klay did not.

Best believe that the Warriors are going to pay them luxury taxes if both KD and Klay agree to the offered max deals. However, it seems that when the Warriors move to SF, some of the luxury taxes will be offset. How? I don't know that part.

As a Lakers fan, I really dislike this trade. I love AD, but it cost me my starting PG, starting SG, best bench player, my 4th pick, and future 1st rounders?

Are you kidding me? Kuzma was that prized?

Outside of those three who's even going to be starting, etc.

There's a reason why they call him LeGM. It's so sad that this offseason is how I figured it was going to be for them. Get rid of the incumbent HC and try to find the puppet, er I mean, HC that Bron wants. Then, get rid of the young players to make way for a well-established veteran.

The Lakers can be looking at a nightmare situation if AD suffers some long-term injury. They have no depth to speak of. And how are they certain another FA will even look to sign with them?
