i wasnt even saying you didnt like peters - just saying that timing-wise i think you'd feel different about our offseason if the peters deal happened now rather than then - feels like we're not doing much because we already kind of splashed out - it just happened to happen before the offseason started

okay so the roster that lost vs tennessee vs todays roster

We've lost ( + = positive loss = good thing) (- negative loss= bad thing)
Pierce -
Jimmy -
Carr +
Hurst -
Hurst ( the shit one) +
Peanut +

Retired:
Yanda ( Massive loss)

Gained

Campbell ( Positive gain)

Resigned?

Ward ( Negative)

Anyhow, Eric stil has time to not mess this season up. Hopefully by the time I wake up, he'll have made a move to improve one of our posiitons of need

we also get tavon young, deshon elliott, maybe skura (albeit unlikely) back, we retain peters who we didnt even have on the roster until early in the season

and we have 5 picks in the first 3 rounds in the draft - the last time that happened was 2008, the last time we had 3 picks in the first 2 rounds was even further back in 2005 (and we didnt end up with any 3rd rounders that year because we traded up to get that 2nd 2nd rounder)...

in the history of the ravens franchise we've never had this draft capital - the combination of total picks in the first 3 rounds and total picks in the first 2 rounds has never happened in franchise history

so while draft picks arent a guarantee and you've made your skepticism about EDC going all in on this draft class abundantly clear - we've also got the best set of lottery tickets we've ever had in terms of day 2 volume in a really nice and deep looking draft class

hey if the draft goes tits up feel free to come back at me but idk i think we're going to find some impact players in this class

i think you're going to wake up disappointed - i expect the biggest moves left in this offseason are going to be the draft picks
I always extend an invite to Sami for the Forum Mock and he has never played. He has admittedly mentioned not knowing players past the first couple rounds.

i suppose when you have cap to throw around

speaking of which? when will we have that? i thought teams with rookie quarterbacks should really be in the uppper half of cap

sick of it TBH

When you have a team with 12 pro bowlers those tend to take up a lot of caps space especially when all are not on rookie deals.

I’m OK getting rid of Hurst for a nice 2nd round pick in this draft. I didn’t read what other people said but I think that’s a great move because Hurst was an older guy on a rookie deal. I really liked what he could’ve been here but he wasn’t getting many looks because of Andrews and Boyle. Furthermore, we could get ourselves a WR here to replace his hands and route running in a strong draft class. We can also look at rookie TE and draft one to inject some youth as well so that’s exciting.

Campbell is a great move because even if his pass rushing drops he’s solid against the run and will make a devastating combo with Williams. He will also help our pass rushing issues and we could still get a rookie DL as well without any issues.

I’m only slightly surprised by James Hurst being cut but I guess if your name is Hurst then you’re gone here lol. Regardless, it definitely is strange considering the depth we have at IOL without Yanda.

he'll pick the right positons and the wrong player knowing good old eric. He'll do a lot of trading and then dissapoint us. I had a source who knows a guy that used to work with the ravens that he was behind Correa and Kaufusi

A 2nd is better for this team than Hurst. Jimmy and Carr create a depth problem but not a starter problem. So basically we have a - on CB depth and a big - on an interior OLine starter and a plus on the DLine other than that the team is exactly the same quality BEFORE the draft and assuming NONE of the young talent gets better going into year 2/3 (highly unlikely).

@Grim really glad that James Hurst is gone because now Harbaugh can't go back to him.

I liked Hayden Hurst but agree with Rossi that the offense will continue to evolve and probably have less opportunities in year three than he had this past year. I did love his hands and speed / blocking though and he's an excellent number two. That being said, sometimes you need to trade value and take a risk to improve other parts of the roster.

I also agree with you that he was an older player and I'll add he probably wouldn't have been here in a couple of years due to Andrews, who is the better TE anyway.

you do realize that every team could twist the reality and make it seem like they've got better. I'm telling you that unelss eric nails this draft, based on our FA so far, we're not going to be as good next year.

idk they seem like quintessential ozzie picks (not how they turned out but stylistically)

and even if we exclude the 2018 draft which clearly he had a heavy hand in but was still technically ozzie's draft, he nailed the 1st pick in 2019 at a position that the ravens have been historically bad at picking - hard to really create a precedent for what an EDC draft class looks like except that it normally involves a lot of moving around the board
