Its not about not supporting Ravens... its the shift in energy and fandom. He suck now but once we draft him all of a sudden he is great. Why cant people keep those same opinions of him? why cant we see the good in him now?

it's not about not seeing the good, it's about weighing their values vs their weaknesses or flaws and it makes murray not a prospect many of us would want in the first round

that does not mean he doesnt possess qualities that would be exciting and are major positives

e.g. i do not want murray, i think he's raw and has lots of mental errors on film and has some flaws that will take major changes to get over in the NFL - feels like a risky projection to the pro level

if we were to draft him that first statement would still be true - but he'd be a raven so my focus would turn to the fact that he has dynamic elite athleticism for the position he'd play and the ability to be a game-changer in a defence with pieces around him - many of his flaws are potentially fixable and we dont know what coaching he got at oklahoma

both statements can be true at the same time - i dont want us to draft kenneth murray in the 1st round (or the 2nd round for that matter) but im not going to avoid finding positives if we do draft him - that would be an odd thing to want to do - i wouldnt be forgetting what i thought before but id be pivoting to a new frame of mind: going from objective evaluation of who is the best prospect to a more focussed evaluation of how can this player help our team

Honestly wouldn't expect any. No reason for him to sign his tag at this point, and ultimately, I don't think he gets traded.

Next time you hear Judon news, other than speculation about something that won't happen, may not be until July.
I believe the further it gets into free agency and yes, this is only day two, the less likely it is that we trade him.

Sure he was. He also did two stints with two different teams of 4+ years.

Has Marcus done that? You think he's all of the sudden going to settle into a team when he's in his 30s?

A better comparison would be... do I think Bernard Pollard was a great player? No, I don't. He never did more than 2 years with any team after his rookie deal, and was out of the league by like 30.

i think its important to understand why it didnt work out in each location though - marcus peters was disliked in KC because of his character, he was got rid of in LA as part of the tradeoff to get ramsey but by all accounts they liked him (but he also wasnt the best fit in their scheme)

Don't know if this has been mentioned but it seems like every year we pick up a player from the division we play that season.

Hes not in his 30s yet and were usually a good fit for guys like him. It's worth a 1 year prove it deal, although I do wonder how we'd handle the rotation
Don’t get me wrong, I’ve always loved Gurley, but I think he’s running on fumes now with all his injuries

I think it's just a degenerative knee. I don't see anyone offering guaranteed money. Think it's over for him, unfortunately.

Gordon and Gurley being available at this time of the year is crazy.

Gordon and Gurley being available at this time of the year is crazy.

Fantasy Football says to take runningbacks early but the reality is that it's a Quarterback driven league. Runningbacks just aren't valued as much as they were in the past. Apparently Gordon turned down an offer from the Chargers last year that was more than what he is being offered now as a free agent. Same thing is going to happen to Bell, maybe next offseason and the Jets will release him and get out of his bad contract. Runningbacks are a dime a dozen, they can come from any round or even be a surprise free agent signing(Justin Forsett) or an undrafted free agent signing(Gus Edwards). Even though we proved that running the ball is still more effective than passing(top 5 QB passers in 2019 did not make the playoffs), teams are still going to make it all about the QB.

... and that's the approach to take when we draft a player that you're not high on. Say, damn, I really didn't want to see us take him ... Hopefully the FA sees something I don't and now let's see that guy prove me wrong.

As opposed to some people who root for the guy to fail so they can be proven right.

nfl.com now talking about ravens looking to bring Clay Matthews

just saw that - but seems to be just mike garafolo speculating because we supposedly offered clay matthews more money than the rams last year (but he chose the rams... idiot lol)

from what i can tell that's where the buzz comes from - garafolo mentioning last year's offer and saying he 'wouldn't discount that'

not exactly concrete lol
