he'll be available but at this point I was Ruiz. We need to solidify our O line first and foremost.
I agree, I shudder at the thought of this OL in front of our mvp, but man this feels like the year the ravens can finally for once get their legitimate #1 superstar receiver

Most mocks have the big 3 (Jeudy, Lamb and Ruggs) gone by 13th. Then Jefferson and Mims going to PHI and MIN at 21st and 22nd/25th in the case of MIN.

I think to get either, EDC needs to call up his buddy Caldwell in Jacksonville to jump to pick 20. What would the cost be though?

Unless you want Shenault, Higgins or Reagor at 28th, the pick may be spent elsewhere

There are routinely mocks with 7 or 8 receivers taken in the first round. Idk I just find it so unlikely though. 8 receivers means 25% of the first round is receivers? Just doesn't seem likely. That being said I expect 5.

im expecting 6 tbh - the styles of receivers are so different that teams will be have them in different orders based on scheme, roster etc. that enough of them will be rated high on boards that more will go than just the top 5 guys i think

i think the worry is that if we don't get one in the first round, there probably wont be an obvious one to take in the second round and we may find ourselves waiting until the 3rd round where there are talented guys with potential but also there's athletic flaws or incredible rawness in those guys

So if only 5 go in the first, we may have to move in the second, but I'm sure we can get our guy. If 8 go in the first that would be devastating. I'm all in for Justin Jefferson or Denzel Mims. Expecting Ruiz will be off the board. Hoping we move a few spots if we need to. If impact is what EDC is looking for, I see that at Guard/Center or Receiver.

there's 4 i love in round 1 (lamb, jeudy, mims, ruggs), 1 i like in round 1 (jefferson), 1 im ok with but not elated about in round 1 (reagor), and then 3 more that i love from like pick 35 onwards (higgins, aiyuk, hamler)

the next guy i like is ranked below 60 on my board

so that's 9 guys id be happy taking in the first 2 rounds - i just dont see the 9th player even getting close to the 55th pick

the dream for me at 28 is ruiz or mims - if either of those 2 are there then great - if somehow they both are there i have no idea how i'd decided between them lol - mims is higher on my board but ruiz might be a foundational piece at a position of greater immediate need (and i only have him 4 spots lower)

in both cases there might not be a prospect at their position available in the 2nd round when we pick

It would be sooo hard to choose between Mins and Ruiz if they were both their. If I had to guess what EDC would do, it'd be Ruiz. If it were me it'd probably be Mims. To be honest with you though, I don't think we've got a shot at mims. Even Mel kiper is coming on these sports talk shows and hyping mims. I'm really hoping Jefferson is there at 28.

if im honest i dont feel good about either mims or ruiz being there at this point

the order of the draft from pick 21 to 30 is going to be lethal for any of the later teams's chances to grab a WR

Eagles will grab one, Vikings likely grab one, Pats could grab one (although they feel least likely), Saints are less likely now that they signed sanders but would make sense for them to grab one anyway, vikings probably dont grab 2 wrs but if they dont get one at 22 they'll probably grab one here at 25 i reckon, if the dolphins keep all 3 first round picks i expect them to either have taken one at 18 or to take one at 26, seahawks could grab one too, ravens will want one at some point in the draft (probably hoping 2nd round but that would probably be a reach), Titans probably least of a threat to grab a WR in this run of teams, Packers definitely in the market for a receiver

my guess is that means 3 receivers minimum go in that run of picks before 28 - so for us to have a shot at one who might be close to BPA at the pick we'd need basically only 1 receiver to go before the 21st pick - the cardinals trading for hopkins helps (although they might go wild and grab ceedee lamb anyway but that's less likely now i think) - the jets are taking a tackle unless they get trent williams - if they get trent williams then i reckon they're either going WR or EDGE but for now im pretty sure they're taking whichever tackle is still on the board (if there's one still on the board at 11) - for now my thinking is that because of the depth in the class the first receiver might not get taken until 13 - that seems late to me but stranger things have happened - broncos look like they might take a WR too

to me that looks like there won't be a WR available at 28 unless some team above us falls in love with laviska shenault or takes someone unexpected

with ruiz i think the threats for him to be taken are the cowboys, patriots, dolphins, jaguars - but he certainly seems the more likely to fall to us - those teams have more prominent and urgent needs than an IOL in round 1

Honestly, I think this is an unfortunately accurate prediction. I have changed my tune as well. I see 3 going before 20, and 3 before 28. I'm just praying someone reaches on Shenault and Higgins. Which to be honest may happen.

@rossihunter2 What are your thoughts on Tyler Johnson? I actually think he could be a good fit for us. He's certainly not the most athletic, in fact I feel like he's the inverse of Miles Boykin. Less athletic, but plays to his size. He seems like the kind of guy who could be that 3rd down security blanket kind of receiver, but he's not going to set the world on fire. Maybe like a slightly more productive outside Willie Snead.

i like him quite a bit - was one of the few guys i wanted to get a 40 time for though - he doesnt seem crazy unathletic to me at all but lack of speed and explosion has been levied at him often so would be interested in having had athletic testing numbers for him but alas we must stick to the film

to me the film says he's a day 2 guy - i like him a fair amount - keep seeing him available on day 3 and if that's the case that feels like a no brainer to me

would be a reasonable projection for both - and that's probably our best case scenario with regards to WRs if both those guys get drafted ahead of 28

I really would not mind taking him in the second if we miss out on the cream of the crop in round 1.

I dont really like player comparisons and I know you don't either but I couldn't help but think of Kamar Aiken 2015 version. Lol idk why but it jumped to my head

3rd round somewhere would be where i'd start thinking about AGG - i like him but i dont like him enough for round 2
i think there's a chance he slides into day 3 but id be happy with him in the 3rd round somewhere
Okay so we think alike. That's reassuring. I first saw him pegged as a late round Guy and I just couldn't see that when I saw the tape. He's at least round 4 to me.
