Damn apparently we were trying to sign Suh lol. EDC is just trying to build a brick wall at this point

I do as well. Then I hope we trade back up after 28 and get Laviska or Mims
Murray is just such a boom or bust prospect. He flies around the field and is uber athletic but he makes some questionable reads

Granted Oklahoma doesn't have the best defensive coaches and you can tell watching their scheme.

If theres any position that I really trust coaching on our defense it LB, that's Winks specialty and he made Bynes and Fort into solid players last year. I think Wiink would be the best guy for Murray honestly. If Wink can make Murray understand his scheme he can find a great role for him, and seeing that he wont have the green dot year 1 since Clark did such a great job at it I think he could thrive.

I'm sure this pick would require Winks stamp of approval and if hes pounding the table for him I'd feel comfortable knowing Wink wants to work with him

Do you think that makes it pretty likely they keep Judon this year then as they do not really need the cap to sign anyone else?

ngl - as soon as they traded for calais campbell i was almost 100% sure we were keeping judon - my only real question now is whether he plays on the tag or whether he gets a long-term deal honestly

we wont be getting rid of judon for cap purposes - if we get rid of judon it's because someone made us a really great trade offer

Murray reminds me of kenny young.

Clueless

I hated the kenny young pick. ( thankfully you can see that as the forum was up and running in 2017 draft)

suh is the kind of potential signing that doesnt really make sense to me - likely would have been a 1 year deal with the entire burden of the salary on this year's cap which makes it harder to finesse the cap space to make him fit under the cap

that and we've just acquired loads of DL talent at a high cost - would be a ridiculous amount of money to put onto 1 DL - we'd be paying 4 separate vets on the DL at basically market price plus a franchise tag on the edge - that's crazy investment lol

i wonder maybe if we signed suh whether the brockers deal (which still hasnt been officially announced) would be pulled out of or something idk - just spit-balling

Shenault would be great for a 3rd round pick. I like him a lot more as WR than Murray as a ILB
I'm not the biggest fan of Murray either but I feel his best fit as a player would be our scheme. He wont need to worry about having the green dot either and Wink might be the best LB coach in the NFL rn. He had some sub par coaching at Oklahoma to say the least. They have excellent offensive coaches but defensively they are bland as hell

Like I said. You have to take into account the coaching he had at Oklahoma. Dont put all his flaws on him, sometimes he really flashes his potential and ability to diagnose a play

Decosta's biggest risk so far was trading Hurst. We probably will need another tight end so I'm not sure whether we will look to the draft on this one.

Andrews' injury issues still concern me.

I think for sure we pick up another TE.. one injury Andrews and we are fucked

if we end up with murray and shenault as our first 2 picks ill be melting down on draft night - probably in explosive fashion
You don’t like Laviska? He’s been someone I’ve been following and I really like him. Maybe not in the first, but definitely in the early 2nd

what do you like about him? he's WR 12 for me - and I have a 3rd round grade on him
He reminds me of Boldin. Just a tough, compact dude with a good story. So if the top three are gone as well as Mims, who would you take at 28 WR wise?
