Well sure, but only because the Brockers deal fell through, and that wasn't in his control.

He can't stop Yanda retiring.
He (had) bolstered the run D, which was a concern.
We got a bit more interior pass rush.
A 2nd for Hurst is a good return, although I'm iffy on that move because I like Hurst.
I'm not going to lose sleep over Bynes leaving.
I like Jimmy as coverage.
Who was really available at iOL or WR in free agency?
Did you want to spend money on one of the free agent RBs?

You're entitled to your opinion, obviously, by my god do you like to talk in absolutes!

I'd have done the following

Hargraves
Lawson
Littleton

No need for Campbell
No Need for brockers
Let judon Walk

With my plan we'd be younger. Get the interior pass rush and Solidify the run and pass on the edge with lawson. Littleton is great in coverage so that's 3 aspects or dynamics of our D sorted

What did eric do?

a 34 year old campbell.

I know, you said. But I've got no reason to think those moves are better.

Well. Hargraves is what we wanted willie henry to be. Lawson is a superbly well rounded OLB who sets a mean edge and gets after the rusher decent too and littleton is a great cover ILB.

We got younger and better as Sami being your GM. We sorted 3 issues.

This is the NFL. A team is more than capabale of going from great to crap in 1 year.
Yup. And I'm seeing a lot of teams in the AFC that would fall into that category.

Is New England better today?
Is Houston better today?
Is Tennessee better today?

If all we're doing is reacting to what we've seen so far (which obviously is short-sighted), why would I be concerned about our competition?

Nobodies gonna be able to sell that the Patriots or Texans (two of our main competitors in the AFC) have improved this offseason so far. Patriots may have easily cut their win total in half just through March.

KC really hasn't added anybody, which is expected, given that they're spending all their money to keep the band together. Tennessee lost quality Oline play, and spent all their money trying to keep the band together also.

Pittsburgh is using their entire offseason to pray that Ben comes back healthy, because they have pretty much no ability to upgrade their roster significantly. And Cleveland did what Cleveland does... add a pass catcher they don't need, and not address the defense, which is where their focus should be.

I don't really care if the Ravens exit FA better than they were before... we didn't exit FA last year better off either. Didn't seem to matter much did it?

We went 14-2 last year with a below average DL, a below average pass rushing group, and probably the worst group of inside linebackers in the league.

Maybe those units will improve when its all said and done, but maybe they won't. There hasn't been an NFL team in the history of the universe that addressed all its "areas of weakness" in a single offseason. Ravens wont be the first.

What have we addressed? We've lost far more than what we've addressed

We added Campbell and lost far far more. We havent addressed WR, ILB, OLB, DE, IOL and also lost a good TE. A strength of our team.

This is a poor, poor offseason. Campbell isn't going to make that much of a difference IMO on his own. ( and that's what he will be, on his own)

and before you say '' THE DRAFT''

we havent got the dolphins hall of picks. We are more than capable of messing up in the 2nd round ( as history shows). and generally you get 2-3 good players in a great draft and the rest are JAGS at best. ( look at all our drafts)

So I just poured over the free agency list again and its not pretty. Everyone on the interior oline is either old or injury prone or they just suck. Same with defensive line. None of the remaining pass rushers (outside of Clowney) can set the edge.

Shelby Harris is a good player but the rest is absolute bullshit

There is little doubt now in my mind with the amount of issues this team has on it's roster from Age on D to holes to hill that Eric will be trading back and hoarding picks galore.

How are we going to fix our OLB situation?

The draft

How are we going to help Campbell in the DE position?

The draft

How are we going to fix our ILB situation

The draft

How are we going to fix our IOL situation

The draft

How are we going to fix our WR situation?

The Draft

How are we going to have a TE group as strong as last year

The Draft

So basically we have to hit between good-great in 6 picks

good luck.

Which need would you prioritize? Well the DL doesn't look promising, Campbell and a limited NT.
My order: DL, WR, Edge, ILB, iOL, TE.

You use pff so you should know a 34 year old Campbell is still pretty good.
