It could. I also wonder if Ingram will regress. Justice hill showed nothing and running backs usually show a lot more as rookies than most.

We were not proactive this FA. You can't afford to be stagnent. Teams can go from being 14-2 to 8-8 VERY EASILY.
I agree with Sami on this one (kinda) I think we played above what we were last season and I don't think anyone would argue that. If we don't get off to a hot start, teams can run the ball and we are kinda fucked.
I don't think anyone in the league is better with a lead, but we are not at all meant to play from behind and to be honest that was not helped at all this offseason. Adding CC is awesome clearly, but I think people do underplay that we lost a HOF one of the best ever- guards with no replacement yet.

If we have really bad luck this season we could very easily go 8-8. I hate to say it but we really didn't have major injuries last year, that just won't happen again. Ben is back and he is always good for one win vs us. The Browns I really think will be more dangerous. I think we are in the ballpark of an 11-12 win team, maybe 13 if we are on it , but this club could very easily end 9-7 or 8-8. We have an incredible style of play, but everything relies on us getting to play that style.

1. I think its far, far, far, far, far too early in the offseason to be assessing what September's roster will look like.
2. I agree that we were the beneficiaries of a largely healthy roster last year, but I could say similar things for a lot of teams, who could face similar types injuries that will hurt their season as well. Just depends on where the injuries are. If Lamar misses a bunch of games, we're screwed. Injuries in the secondary may be easier to overcome. Just depends on where they come from.
3. I don't know that Ben is back yet, nor do I think he'll even be anything better than average. He was pretty average two years ago when he was playing, he's got a bad elbow injury that nobody has convinced me has healed yet, and the offensive side of the ball on that team is far, far, far from scary.
4. Cleveland basically added a RT and a TE who will get half the volume he got last year and won't be nearly as effective. Still lost some key defensive players and haven't replaced those guys yet, which should have been the focus for that FO this offseason.

I can pretty much play this game with at least 20-25 teams in the league right now, because there aren't many who are noticeably better on paper. That's how free agency generally works. Its usually just shuffling deck chairs.

Im def with you on this. I expect the browns to show more potential this year.. i really hope simmons dont fall to them also. We could possibly fall to third in division depending on everything else goes before season start

2018 was a good draft. I lauded the picks of Andrews and Brown.
2019 was a step back. He cannot afford to waste picks on guys like Murray and then think well its ok i redeemed myself with one of my later round picks

hit on 3/4 of the picks. It's possible. I;ve done it before.

How can anyone grade a draft after one season? It usually should take 3 years or so.

I think your underestimating how good Lamar Jackson is. Hes a winner, a reigning MVP in year 3 still learning the position...no way we go 8-8. 10-6 at worst with the foundation we have. Lamar makes guys better around him, well be just fine

Worst case I see a 11-5 record. Realistically I see a 13-3 record this year.

The browns were shit because Kitchens lost the ability to call plays and lost all respect from his locker room. We got our shit run by the browns once last year and barely squeaked out in week 16. I am not saying that they will win the north by any means, I was speaking on the behalf of me projecting our losses.
The steelers defense is scary good. They almost made the playoffs without a qb. People forget that they were 20 times better of a team than us in 2018 they just blew it against the Saints. Not to say we should have lost to them in week 5, but there is no way we sweep them again this year.

We aren't a 14-2 roster. I don't underrate Lamar but it isn't realistic for him to not have a drop-off after one of the most dominate seasons ever. Like I said, I still think we are a 11-12 win team. And I am not pushing the panic button in the slightest, I am only saying it looks clearly like we are banking on the draft so we have to nail it. IE, we didn't do enough in FA to fix problems, EDC obviously is banking on the draft to replace talent, but for anyone expecting for us to make a huge fa splash, I understand the fear.

i saw that - the fact that no one else has said anything makes me distinctly suspicious lol

until i see anything from elsewhere im still firmly in the nothing to see here camp
I simply just don't believe anything on that. It really wouldn't make sense right now. Especially with the word that he had an offseason surgery and no medical clears. I think this is a guy who over values himself and cares a lot more about money than winning - at least this stage in his career- which is totally fair.

Niners had numerous picks at the top of the draft. Not really fair.

@gtalk12 If I had to guess... Chargers and Colts?

EDIT: Just realized it was decade. Colts sucked until they dumped Grigson.

Seahawks and...
I pointed out that I had to knock them for picking so early and because of Solomon thomas.

I couldn’t agree with Seahawks because the last few years they’re just fucking swinging at balls way out of the strike zone with no rhyme or reason

THe NFL is a cruel league when it comes to talent

Ask yourself this

How does our pass rush stack up against ANY of our division rivals?
Our ILB core?
Our IOL?

We are not winning any trenches battles with this current roster. Esp in the interior for the O line and the Edges of this D line.

This is a game won by %'s and quality matters.

Chuck clark is a good safety for instance, he'll never be a GREAT or top 5 saftey
Is Earl Thomas going to decline more?

That's one of our stronger points too.

The D line as constructed is in my opinon a mess.
As yourself this

how do any of our division rivals stack up to
Our qb?
Our run game?
Our TEs?
Our secondary?
our playcalling?

I promise you, every fan in the afc north right now will talk their shit but deep down know that the ravens are the class of the division for a long time to come, and will wish they had what we have.

I mean to be fair some players you can just tell they either gonna continue to produce or just gonna be terrible
If you’re referring to Ferguson, while I’m leaning on the “never will be jackshit” side, it really is too soon for him, he does have upside and absurd production from college and a few tools that translate to the nfl.
