Cuomo on March 24th: Pleas to Trump for the need of ventilators.

March 27th: New York has plenty of them but Cuomo says "the hospitals don't need them yet" and will only use them once the NY outbreak reaches its Apex.

Wow....... complain Trump is not doing enough to supply hospitals only to hide the same supplies and withhold them until the virus gets worse? This is as bad as Nancy holding back the stimulus package bill to get things passed that has nothing to do with the virus. Unreal man, their hate for Trump is so strong that it's hurting them.

Also... Twitter is full of Democratic propaganda. Can't go one day without something about Trump and the amount of people falling for this democratic BS... is unbelievable.

Social media was one of the worst things to happen to politics.

Not sure where to put this but if you have to collect umemployment they DO NOT take out taxes. Please be aware of this since this is taxable income and could bite you in the ass come tax time.

In lockdown until April 30th according to Trump, and says if everything goes as planned we'll be on the road to recovery by June 1st.

With the numbers still climbing and hitting other areas like New Orleans this is the smart thing to do. My dream is that come draft day the numbers will be going down dramatically with the real promise of reopening up our economy. Chugging some beer. Smoking some brisket. Life being normal again. Getting the next HOFr.

The smart thing would have been to act when he should have instead of bullshitting about vaccine just around the corner and back to business by Easter.

Its time to lighten up on the president. He said " He would like to see it open by Easter". Its a goal. Not a commitment. Yet you thought it was tho. Thats how you guys think. You dont actually listen. Would like doesnt mean will.

Your PM didnt do no travel bans until March 14. Pretty much on par with everybody else. You guys are just more lucky than anything. Let alone your natural borders cuz of the ocean. A lot less people travel to your country than either the US or Europe. Also the EU is supposed to be one but yet they divide their counts when it comes to coronavirus yet nobody says nothing about them and their socialized health care. We're not even close to EU numbers.

I don't know how to respond to this. You can't seriously be so blind and not see how inadequate and, worse, irresponsible his handling of the outbreak was. He was consistently incoherent and kept contradicting everything that health professionals and health officials from his own administration were saying, often within 5 minutes, from the same podium. His sole concern is Dow fucking index. How do you go from "it will be over soon, we're opening for business around Easter" to "we did a good job if less than 100 000 people dies" in a span of 10 days, without blinking? And all that time and leading to it, royal fuckup throughout the EU was on display but not taken as a warning, at least?

NZ borders were open far too long, too but there was a 14 and 28 days isolation requirement for all arriving and huge majority of people coming to NZ were Kiwis coming back home. During that time 100% of confirmed cases were directly linked to overseas travel. Once the first 2 cases could not be directly linked, NZ went into lockdown. I understand the scale and natural advantage over here but just 24 hours ago, there were 4800 planes in the air over US, crossing the country left and right, with 100 thousand + confirmed infected on the ground (which as I write this is 150000+), unfortunately.

This has to get much worse before people get it.

So you're saying he said " It will be over soon. We're opening up for business around Easter" and then tell me I'm blind. FYI he never said that.
He said "He would love to have the country opened and just raring to go by Easter". Idk looks a lot diffrent from what you're posting. Wanting to or hoping to doesnt mean he's saying its locked in stone. Then he decides to extend to Apr 30 and you needlessly blast him for it.

Now the kicker is they the media like the peacock channel and CNN dont even want to air his press conferences no more so they can sit there and cherrypick and edit and say this is what he really means. Look at your quote again.

I'm sure those planes you are talking about are domestic and a lot arent commercial but I agree this is still a high number.

"Easter talk" is not the point, the damage was done long before this point. He kept minimising danger all along, hiding behind closing borders to travel from China, yet allowing flights from Europe for quite some time after it was clear the infection in Europe is out of control.
Here, no commentaries either way, just Trump speaking:

We closed our borders to Europe before New Zealand did by almost a week but yet you put your PM on a pedestal and criticize Trump. Then you want to go and show a bunch of short clips of what Trump said after I just told you about freaking editing. Has he said some wrong things? Yes he has but all and all he's doing a hell of a job for a country that has 330 mil people. His approval rating for the job he is doing with coronavirus is over 60%.

You can't make any conclusions on the actual dates the border was closed - it's about what happened prior to that and how is situation developing in any given case.

This is what NZ did (Ministry of Health, not PM): https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/he...irus-understanding-new-zealands-covid19-curve

Due to immense difference in circumstances (size, numbers, etc...), I argue that US should have done much more, much earlier and actually tried to enforce some of the measures. Would it work? Who knows, probably not but it might have given people a fighting chance by slowing down a spread. Lot of people still don't realise the seriousness of the situation.

And for the record - I certainly do not put NZ PM on a pedestal and repeat - I wanted a lockdown earlier. And I never voted Labour / left in my life but am sure as hell thankful they happened to be in government right now. I have a hunch National party's priorities would have been different.
