Didn’t watch a lot of Seahawks game to know much about him as a player. The narrative around Seattle the last couple of years were that Russell is magic man and his Oline never did him any favors sooo..

But reading the Seattle Seahawks subreddit, he’s a mauler in the run game, below avg in pass protection and sort of injury prone. High character guy.
Let’s hope Seattle just have a poor Oline coaching staff and ours will unlock him.

Fluker is not very good, but I certainly wouldn’t write him off being a starter at RG to start the year
I'm not a fan as well. That being said, Joe D was the oline coach for the Chargers when Fluker was drafted, so there is that.

Under Joe D, Fluker had two or three decent seasons. It was when he left San Diego that he started to fall apart.

5 teams in 5 years. The talent WAS there but who knows at 29 he could bounce back and have a good year. As I said before the competition at G will be fierce. I like what EDC is doing.
Well EDC decided he wanted more competition at RG. I’m cool with that.

not surprising

Ravens exercised CB Marlon Humphrey's fifth-year team option for 2021.
Humphrey became an every-snap player for Baltimore's deep secondary in 2019, though you could argue he remains the team's second best corner behind Marcus Peters. Jimmy Smith is also still in the fold. Humphrey has been solid, of course, and at three months shy of his 24th birthday, remains extremely young. The move is a no-brainer for the Ravens.

My wonder if how the coaching staff can unlock him when there will be very few if any opportunities for coaches to well coach anyone.

That happened out of the blue (with Seattle),” Fluker said. “It caught me off guard a little bit. But honestly, the Ravens fit my style of play and the way I play — physically and running the ball, things like that. And that’s what I want to be a part of.

In addition to the Alabama connections with people like Ingram and Ravens executive vice president Ozzie Newsome, the move also reunites Fluker with his original NFL offensive line coach.

Baltimore offensive line coach Joe D’Alessandris was the Chargers’ offensive line coach for Fluker’s first three NFL seasons.

All of that — the Alabama connections, the history with D’Alessandris, the Ravens’ offensive approach and the chance to be part of a Super Bowl contender — factored into this choice for Fluker, who also received interest from the New Orleans Saints.

“They’re a championship contender and that’s what it’s about,” Fluker said. “It’s about what they stand for and what they’re trying to do. They want to win a Super Bowl. And that’s what I’m looking forward to. That got me right there. That’s what drives me and being able to run the ball and be myself and be physical and be a team player.”

RTR!

I only hope it isn't a guaranteed contract but one that is part of the competition for Guard... I mean Fluker's.
I doubt we’ve committed much to get him. He was cut not because he sucked but because they saved 8M in cap and he wasn’t worth that.

The FO wouldn’t have made this move if they thought Powers was a lock to earn a starting job and counting on rookies not taken within the top 100 picks on starting day 1 isn’t where you want to be.

He adds to the competition at the position I felt was #2 top concern going into the draft and the #1 coming out.

i like the move but it proves the doubt in guts we have especially ben (more so the optimism of fans that the fo was really high on ben) i like his power but don’t like his agility or reactions much

I don’t think it’s doubt - but I think there was a good opportunity to add a veteran presence to the room with a chance to compete - other than fluker, the only OL we have not on his rookie deal is Andre smith lol

Let’s just fast forward to 2021 and grab Trey Smith or Creed Humphrey lol. I was really confused why they chose to return to school considering how bad the interior o line class was.

Also would more players consider entering this years supplemental draft because of the Chinese virus?

I think Humphrey made the right decision to go back - he might have ended up slipping down the draft after a less good year - can get himself into first round with a good senior year

Humphrey will likely be next years Ruiz, I’d be surprised if he isn’t gone in the top 40.

and, I could be wrong here, but I feel like an iOL in the first 2 rounds, unless it’s a complete no brainer, isn’t Eric’s style. He likes to keep the cupboard stocked on the OL but he does it by volume, like he makes waves of OL picks every year knowing we have an excellent coach and scheme in place, and he just hopes that leaving with 2 guys per year nets at the very least a replacement level depth guy who can develop into a competent mid tier starter before the rookie deal ends.

and to be honest, it’s worked really well. I just don’t know if we’re gonna be seeing a G or C in the first round anytime soon.

All we need to keep in mind is Yanda was a 3rd round pick.
