The three year window also happens to NOT INCLUDE the 2017 Draft. He is saying in the past three years, counting for the 2020 Draft QBs like Tua, Herbert and Burrow who haven't played a single snap in the NFL yet. So he is literally taking out Patrick Mahomes & Deshaun Watson in order to make his point seem stronger.
Exactly very deliberate piece of human feces!

1. He's not really a short yardage back. Not even the Ravens are using him in that way. Ingram is in the game on first and goal or short yardage situations, not Gus.
2. In the modern NFL, teams like backs that are multi-faceted. Need to be every bit as good in blitz pickups or catching passes as you did getting YPC or plowing guys over. Gus isn't a multi-faceted back.

Gus fits well here, because this team plays a similar style to what he does well. Gus would get 2, maybe 3 carries a game, on a team like KC, or Arizona, or the Patriots, who wouldn't need his skill sets at all.

To me, he's the classic "overvaluing players on your own team kind of guy". I'd put it another way... I don't think a single team in the league would offer up a 7th round pick to acquire Gus Edwards today.

Hmmm good point and its true teams value running backs that are versatile or multi-faceted but The Green Bay Packers drafted a guy by the name of AJ Dillion who may have been more productive than Gus Edwards in college but wasnt really considered a multi-facted type running back and I believe he was drafted in the second round this year. Maybe Gus Edwards gets like 2 or 3 carries with other teams but dont forget there were teams like The Patriots, Lions, and Eagles giving a guy like Legarrette Blunt more carries than that per game and I dont think he was a multi-faceted running back.

Overall I dont think Gus Edwards is some elite running back but I wouldn't rule it out that he could possibly be traded. A team like The Falcons may be interested but we shall see.

Does anyone have any predictions for someone who's going to end up playing better than we expect? How about worse? All indications should be that Jufon has a better year than last. I'm just not sure I see it happening. I expect a similar year. I also think there's a chance Ben powers plays really well

better than expected: Miles Boykins
worse than expected: Orlando Brown (don't think he'll be bad but he's the leader on the right side of the OL now with Yanda gone and i think that transition is going to be really tough)

better than expected (hope): Jaylon Ferguson (would be massive if he could make a leap)

I wouldn’t be surprised at all, he seemed like he may have been casually turning a corner last year, low snap count but he made a number of plays and I can’t remember a bowser play from 2019 where he stood out in a bad way, he just seemed more competent last year, he’s the type that if he does turn the corner you’re gonna get a pretty damn good player.

all that said, I feel like it’s more realistic to expect more of the same

I have a dark horse to take the league by storm this year. Pernell McPhee will be a monster opposite Judon with limited snaps.

I think Judon has reached his potential. I think Ingram has a down year because of his age and downgrade in blocking and Gus becomes the #1. I can also see Lamar having a sophomore slump because of how high he set the bar last year and the delayed start to offseason training.

buuuut lamar is a junior ^_^

Also, I think if any RB takes the lead role away from ingram, it’s gonna be Dobbins. Gus is just a short yardage, up the middle, dive RB. Dobbins offers much more versatility.
