I wish we could send our players over to replace yours that are sick just for this week.
Appreciate that. If the Ravens don’t at least make it to the playoffs, it’s Go Pack Go time in my house (of course I’d be rooting for you guys still even if the Ravens did make it). I want to see a Rodgers v. Ravens Super Bowl in my life time. My favorite QB ever.

People within our organization not taking this serious considering some of the underlying issues some of our players and staff have is grounds for termination in my eyes.

It’s gotta be a failure at multiple levels. Sure Saunders was stupid for starting it, but we had to break other protocols for this to have hit this hard. More than just one guy at fault here and I’d expect ramifications to rain down.

Absolutely agree with you, I am rooting for the Packers since 1993.

One guy Not following protocol eliminates any chance at that. The rules are there, clear as day, if you blatantly disregard them then it can not be wrongful termination.

Not necessarily. All these infections could’ve happened on the same day, it could’ve went to 1 or 2 guys before game day and then spread like wildfire on game day, which appears to be exactly what happened

We’ve seen more and more COVID restriction cases being overruled at the state and federal supreme court levels. The latest being California and before that Pennsylvania. Simply put, whether you agree or not , private or public , the people putting these rules in place clearly do not have the authority to do so.

Due process clause Amendment XIV section one is pretty strong.

If I have an underlying issue or someone in my immediate family does, say my children for example, and you knowingly came to work like that? Yea have issues. Real big issues.

I don't think it would be wrongful termination. Especially if they lay out clear rules and you decide not to follow them. I have seen people lose their jobs for simply not following rules regardless of how big or small.

Well if you wanna go there Maryland is a fire and hire at will state and you can be fired with no justification as long as it isn’t racially or sexually motivated. And the nfl/ravens are privately owned entities and bisciotti/goodell put rules in place that affect their employees and their employees only, this isn’t a matter of constitutional rights, this is a matter of employees not following the rules of their job and causing huge ramifications that really compromises the entire league

I understand your point and the argument about COVID restrictions is really interesting from a legal standpoint. However like I said , restrictions keep getting shot down . Most recently now New York . The people putting these in place simply don’t have the authority to do so.

States or private representatives don’t suddenly gain executive authority during a pandemic.

I’m not arguing if the restrictions put in place are warranted or not ( I’m no doctor/ scientist) just the private and public representatives ability to create/enforce

Amendment 14 section one breaks down the best argument and the due process clause

That is simply not true and whoever told you that id love to talk to. There are several other factors that one can be discriminated against for at work. We routinely deal with wrongful termination in Maryland based on age . People always want to get rid of the old and bring in the new based on some very weak reasoning.

The 14th amendment doesn’t go away once your signed a contract with a private organization. Another misconception people have is that somehow private companies can do what they please and not be sued based on federal and state law .

Except states and the government do gain extra authority during a pandemic. I'm going to keep this brief because this isn't the politics thread, but Jacobson v Massachusetts clearly allows for compulsory vaccination laws over individual liberties for the betterment of public health. You can DM me or look it up yourself for more info. Source: Wikipedia and I'm a med student.

The League is as much to blame as we are, they knew about the positives on Sunday but allowed us to have walk throughs on Monday and Tuesday to try to play the game on Thursday as much as possible.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the league allowed the Ravens to hold walk-through practices on Monday and on Tuesday before shutting down the facility for good. The Monday gathering happened even though the Ravens learned late Sunday night of positive positive player results, based on samples collected on Sunday morning. Ditto for the Tuesday gathering; the players and coaches were in the building on Tuesday morning despite more Monday positives.
