I have never trusted their grading as far as coverage goes, OL grading is suspect too I thought, dont they struggle to properly grade combo blocks and don’t allocate their “points” appropriately on a lot of plays?

oh for sure it's not a perfect system but i find that their system helps OL more than any other position because of how it values consistency and how important that is to the position

doesnt matter if you pancake guys 4 times a game if you also give up 3 pressures and a sack and miss everyone in level 2

it's a position that requires steadiness which is why I find their OL grading more useful than most other positions they grade

i still dont necessarily trust their grading but i do find it a valuable corroboration tool

God I love Fruit Punch.. on both accords ;)

So Dez had two negative tests following his positive test on Monday. So this basically confirms it was a false positive which Dez is rightfully pissed about.

Imagine minutes before the Super Bowl, Mahomes is pulled because a test came back positive and Chiefs no longer have Mahomes available in the Super Bowl. He then tests negative after the game and the NFL had a star QB miss the biggest game of the year over a false positive.

Something was fishy about that whole thing to me to begin with.

Anyone who thinks we are bad at drafting wide receivers should get a look at this

BTW, I actually think we are getting better since we are taking more chances in the first three rounds as of late.

tbf im not sure ive liked any of the receivers they've drafted except maybe jakobi meyers

i really never understood the nkeal harry stuff - felt like the whole draft community was saying he's a 1st maybe 2nd round pick and i was there looking at him going... looks like day 3 to me

cant really just blame the pats for that one, it felt like tons of draftniks were on that train too - and i never understood it at all

I liked Harry for like a month and then changed my mind, and scratched my head at the patriots, who have a bunch of 5’10” white lacrosse players with 4.9 speed at wr, drafting one of the slowest stiffest wrs in recent memory.

Ngl I had Hakeem Butler ranked #1. But I've never seen why or what made Harry a 1st rounder. Generally speaking the Patriots have their own approach to the draft. Their early selections are always weird to me.
I wish we'd question our own wr scouting process.

Hopefully Proche gets more opportunities. We need to know where we're at and what we have at wr going into this offseason.

According to Jeff Z. Edc considered drafting Tee Higgins instead of Queen. Things have really changed in the draft room.

the seahawks too
it often feels like those 2 teams are operating off completely different draft boards to everyone else - notable that the patriots though haven't really been that good of a drafting team over the last decade generally but the combination of Tom Brady and Bill Bellicheck hides a lot of issues and also they've been masters at finding value in free agency and their pro-personnel scouting department was clearly exceptional

hakeem butler was high on a lot of people's boards that year (including mine) - there were a lot of highly touted "big" receivers in that class and almost all of them have been awful: nkeal harry, hakeem butler, kelvin harmon, jj arcega-whiteside

the only one who's done everything is the one that a ton of people rejected out of hand - DK Metcalf

but yeah hakeem butler was probably my (and most of this board's) biggest WR miss that year

sidenote: I still can't believe Chauncey Gardner-Johnson was allowed to go in the 4th round - he was one of my favourite players in that whole class - i had him just outside the top 25 of the whole class lol - imagine if we'd taken him in stead of boykin at the end of the 3rd how well set up the back-end would be here
