Ravens Ring of Honor
i literally just did a ton of study on ja'marr chase to start of the draft process and while he has a super high ceiling - he is nowhere near the dominant, polished finished product you'd want in a guy you mortgage the future for - he gets absolutely dominated by athletic corners who press him and his best trait is his ability at the catch point which requires 2 things... 1) a great and accurate deep ball thrower and 2) the QB's trust to give him a chance even when he's not got any separation

those are not qualities i'd say are a great fit with lamar

you love the fact that Chase can bail you out if your accuracy's slightly off but he also gets washed out of way too many plays by press and doesn't scare corners at all - it's possible he can have a multi-pro-bowl career but i really dont love the fit with Lamar and the fit with an organisation that doesnt have a great track record developing WRs lol
I love this thinking. Allen Robinson + someone like Samuel. I wonder how much Corey Davis will command. My 66 year old mother who loves Lamar even says he needs a true #1 AND a good compliment to said #1 and Hollywood lol. I’d even like a Higgins or Marvin Jones. We need to go all-in on offense this off-season like we did on defense last offseason. Dez, Boykin and Snead are not even viable 3 or 4’s, let alone 2’s.
Allen Robinson would be legit but let me go ahead and ask the tough question: if Browns couldn’t trade him and hypothetically cut him would you want to sign Odell Beckham Jr?

I’ll wait.

If we are bringing in a diva to be our #1 I think I prefer AB but if OBJ is the only way for us to get Lamar the tools he needs then I say go for it. Everyone said Diggs is a cancer and we shouldn't bring him here and he is working great for the bills so why can't OBJ work out for us

Yes. I’d sign OBJ in a hurry. We have a great locker room and since he’s coming off injury, I’m guessing he could be had for a slight bargain and then there’s that revenge factor of playing the Clowns. If he wants to be a diva here, then he can eat shit.

Bro just imagine him and Peters on the same team

Steve Smith had a GREAT point. As important as a bonafide #1 is to Lamar’s development, Roman, the other coaches NEED to implement more complex route trees and combinations, or having a #1 will do nothing. So many times I’ve watched the games unfold with the same basic routes, and Lamar really has no legit options, because the defense was all over the simplicity. Our WR talent isn’t the greatest to begin with. I really hope they see this and spend some time in the lab. After watching Kansas City today, I think that’s a solid blueprint to base it off of.

there are a lot of teams that didn't make the playoffs and had losing records that have better route tree combinations. Agree a number 1 won't do anything until this is improved. That being said many teams don't have a true number 1 receiver. If you have two really good number 2s and a top TE, ie Mark Andrews plus some threes you should be fine.

100% - he's still an unbelievably good receiver
He doesn’t get enough credit because people love to hate him. He’s one of the best route running and electrifying WRs I’ve seen in a while

i think so but MP's the one who's been calling him and Landry "homegirl"

i doubt they would have any actual issues playing on the same team unless the CBs genuinely consider him to not be trash lol which seems unlikely
ah, got it. Didn't understand the reference.

It would be great to have a real offense next season. Think we would need to fire Greg Roman for that to happen though.

he had 1 down year, then got sent to the browns and has had some bad luck and some injury problems (some injury problems all the way through his career at times)

but he's still one of the most talented receivers in the league with some of the most elite traits you can find with his explosive speed, good route running and incredible hands

he gets a bad rap for being weird

he's just passionate is all and I'd love to have him on this team.

Agreed 100%. Nothing about him ever annoyed me. I’d rather see him passionate on the sideline than slumping his shoulders with a deer in the headlights look like Green showed all last season.

The injury history is another reason why he could come at a bargain. He’s still young and in his prime

im not sure why the browns would potentially get rid of him tbh

he's also never gonna be cheaper than the contract he's currently on
Yea I don’t see it happening at all. Just fun to think about lol
