there are a couple of signings i just dont understand this year

but especially with dez - what's the plan?
what's the point in signing him if we're not going to use him how he's best suited i.e. endzone fades, back the of the endzone jump balls up the seam - stuff where his height and physicality make him super valuable

like if we're not going to run those sorts of plays then what did we sign him for?
Just like how I couldn't understand for the life of me why there were ONLY two defenders before Allen's TD pass, I can not understand how we don't even attempt to throw fades to either X or Boykin. Like wtf?
Common denominator Greg Roman

Dez is gone gone

We all knew that Lamar was capable of the stuff we saw in those clips as well, however I don't think goal line fades are high percentage throws. Roman probably wouldn't call those regardless even if they go to Dez

yeah analytics says you dont throw them - but my question is then why are we signing dez if not to use him on those low percentage throws in the redzone - why are we even practicing them if we're never going to run those plays

both good questions. Harbs' end-of-season presser is tmw so I wonder if he'll be asked about players' growing dissent towards Roman and the offense.

he'll 100% be asked about Roman and the passing game - whether he answers is a completely different question (my guess is he'll say that'll have to discuss that when they come together for their meetings - the ones they'd normally all gather with steve bisciotti for although i wonder if they'll do that in the same way this year lol)

"Yeah, Greg has done a great job this year with everything that happened. Let's not forget this was a unique season where we couldn't implement the wrinkles we wanted. We had rookies we couldn't really develop how we wanted because of social distancing & an offseason that really changed how we do things. We feel like we're more prepared this year whether it continues or not so we are successful. I'll just say Greg has a heart of a lion man, you don't know how hard he works his butt out there. I see him sweat a lot and it shows. Greg wants to run the football and that's what we do. We will all talk about how to improve the offense at our annual getaway (social distancing of course) down in FL at Biscotti's estate. If you want to talk about the players complaining, I mean our guys are just passionate and have hearts of lions so they care that much. I don't think it's necessarily about Greg as much as it is that we wanted to finish and just fell short."

I have a feeling Roman will be gone it's the right thing to do I just don't know if John will pull the trigger
It's time to move on from Roman. Hes been fired at multiple places and 3 playoff games he has laid a huge fucking TURD!

1 or 2 playoff games ok but a third where exactly the same thing happens offensively NADA!!

Time for Roman to go.

It just feels like one of those moves the team doesn't make but everyone knows they should like why is David Culley getting interest it not Roman the league even knows it seems like

Roman has lost the team even though he's not the head coach. Time to give him the Billick treatment.

Thanks but its time to move on

How do you explain Lamar doing mostly well when we go no huddle or those quick snaps? I think Lamar can make the decisions he just needs work but Roman needs to scheme better pass routes like you said. I think Jim Harbaigh helped Roman when he was in SF in the passing game

I am leaning towards Roman just having such a simple design. Given the videos that have been posted by Dez, it shows wrinkles in the our offense that we don't use but practice. Makes no sense to me why you would bring him in, practice plays for him, and never use the plays or the player practicing them.

idk that he's lost the team - that feels like a lot of conjecture based on 1 guy dissenting on social media and another guy's fairly innocuous comments in a presser (that weren't particularly controversial or damning of the coach)

he's lost the fans and the media but idk if he's lost the confidence of anyone inside the building - dez (and andrews commenting) suggests maybe there are mutterings but idk man

I don't expect much. Unfortunately Bisciotti and the FO stopped doing the state of ravens conference. Imho the only interesting presser they had where you'd actually learn something

idk is andrews angry that he's gonna be sharing plays or is he angry in the same way dez is "angry"???

here are the clips he posted...

basically looks to me like he's pissed off we signed him and then didn't use him despite practicing these plays

important to note though that posting clips is incredibly frowned upon - and contributed at the end to earl thomas getting cut (was getting cut anyway but didnt help)

I have a feeling we won’t retain Dez and he knows it so maybe he’s just sticking up for his boy

Everyone knows by now that I want Roman gone, but I can’t think of a name that would replace him
