Did anyone else see Judon was liking Instagram comments saying fire Greg Roman lolololol I mean at this point I don't see how we can't fire him players are obviously upset

Saw it.

Roman needs to go or someone has to be brought in for new concepts. The passing game needs a FULL rebuild.

I am leaning towards Roman just having such a simple design. Given the videos that have been posted by Dez, it shows wrinkles in the our offense that we don't use but practice. Makes no sense to me why you would bring him in, practice plays for him, and never use the plays or the player practicing them.
My only guess is maybe it was Culley who designed them and Roman didn’t want to include them. It would make sense too for Culley to take interviews if he feels like he’s not getting what he wants out of his opportunity here. I don’t know if Culley is honestly any better at all but it is strange.
idk that he's lost the team - that feels like a lot of conjecture based on 1 guy dissenting on social media and another guy's fairly innocuous comments in a presser (that weren't particularly controversial or damning of the coach)

he's lost the fans and the media but idk if he's lost the confidence of anyone inside the building - dez (and andrews commenting) suggests maybe there are mutterings but idk man
I think Roman has lost some of the players’ confidence based on how I watch them play. We’re very hot and cold on offense and honestly we seem to play our best when it’s either scripted in the beginning or when you let Jackson run it. It is of course conjecture but I’m basing what I think on body language on the field, comments by players on social media & in the media. I think nobody believes in him except maybe John.
I have a feeling we won’t retain Dez and he knows it so maybe he’s just sticking up for his boy
Dez is going out guns blazing.

That’s even worse, sounds like he knows he’s out too and taking shots at Roman albeit discretely.

We keep saying it’s conjecture based on little rumblings, but a month ago when I was mentioned the rumblings earlier in the season that was being looked at the same way, at what point does it become a trend?

I’d say it’s literally now a trend. Ravens players don’t dissent like this, Bernard pollard was the one and only player who let any drama spill outside of closed doors, now we have Hollywood, dez, and to a lesser degree andrews and Judon, 3 major names and one veteran who frankly keeps it too real and always has.

no bullshit, if dez speaks out and says an OC is holding back our qb, I’m with him. Dez may be dramatic and emotional, but he doesn’t bullshit, talk about antics all you want but a real one like Dez tells it how it is and isn’t sugar coating shit to protect harbaughs feelings

After watching this...............

1) Greg Roman HAS TO GO!

2) Lamar needs better receivers period. We are on the cusp of something we have never had in Baltimore, maybe 2014 but a balanced rushing attack and passing attack. It is absolutley incredible how poorly designed are passing plays but I'm now starting to wonder if this is the reason none of our receivers are open and Lamar has nobody to throw to. It's not that teams are scheming well, it's partially that but the other part is Greg Roman setting up the receivers to fail.

I agree but at same time we dnt need players doing the blame game atleast not like that. I like roman as the run game coordinator but oc naw lol. Its ok to have one player on the team like dez but we got judon and hollywood too lol

If all these guys have a problem with Roman, maybe the problem isn’t those guys, maybe those guys are the beginning of the solution

it's been posted elsewhere but it's still a pretty valid part of the discussion lol

some of this looks like poor coaching of fundamentals - but some of this is piss poor scheme

it's a really bad look - we dont really create any conflict in defenders in zone coverages - you rarely see us high-low a defender in a zone

it just needs a fundamental rebuild

Roman failed against the Chargers . Ok , give him a chance .
Roman failed against the Titans . Ok I’m getting concerned ,
Roman failed against the Bills. Now I’m mad .

Three strikes , your out . That’s how I see it.

I don’t wanna put it all on Roman, our OL was putrid, the bills had an incredible game plan, and the weather was against us, so I won’t pin this loss on Roman.

I will pin this loss on the offense in its entirety along with just not being the most well suited team to win that night.

however, I will absolutely pin the uselessness of our entire wr corps over the course of 2+ years on Roman. And cite my sources as every other stint he’s had in the nfl yielding the same results. A trend is a trend is a trend is a trend. If harbaugh excuses it anymore, well it’s just that, excuses. I’ll still rock with harbaugh but we’ve been down this road many times, leaving cam, hiring kubiak against harbaughs wishes, moving on from Marty, he’s gotta show that he himself is progressing as a coach and make moves that are needed

tbf i think it's tough to say roman failed against the titans - guys didnt execute in key spots but we put over 500 yds of offence on them despite giving up multiple turnovers and getting turned over on 4th and 1 twice

idk but not sure what more roman was supposed to do against the titans...

i think there's a fine line - we can and should criticise Roman for the awful passing concepts and some of the playcalling

but we need to also be clear that we're not pinning poor execution on him and forgetting that he has repeatedly shown the ability to adjust well with his playcalling

I think the problem for me is - i dont think we lost to the bills because of poor pass concepts - i think we lost to the bills because of numerous unforced errors and 2 or 3 catastrophic mistakes - that's on execution more than anything - but that doesn't mean those passing concepts should be uncriticised

it is priority number 1 this offseason - to fix the passing game and it needs a fundamental rebuild - but i want to be clear that i dont think we should be conflating the criticism of Roman and the passing scheme with the loss to the bills - i think those are 2 distinctly different things

Lamar's college tape tells me we are absolutely cuffing him. He ran a lot of shotgun with 4-5 receivers out there to compliment his legs. That makes it tough on defenses

GIVE ME 11 PERSONNEL!!!!
SPREAD EM OUT!!!

i think we need to open up the passing game for him but the single most important thing it would seem to me for lamar (in terms of passing) is to give him time in the pocket - he was lethal from empty in 2019 and lacklustre in empty in 2020 and i think that's a function of the pass protection and him getting spooked because of the constant pressure whenever we're in obvious passing situations

I need to see the data, but it appeared to me like we did much less of that this year. Last year he was converting 3rd and long seemingly at will.

we did it a bit early but it wasn't producing results at all - and i genuinely think a ton of that was down to marshal yanda being out and probably some of the passing concept problems (not having anything underneath that can be "hot" when lamar's got free blitzers coming at him)

I love how every season we say that this is the most important offseason................because it's true LOL. But yes, we need to build the best (if not, one of the best) interior o-lines in the game first and foremost.

Once the draft is over, I want the top 5 WRs in our depth chart to "practice" with Lamar in the offseason. Repetition, repetition, repetition. I personally want Allen Robinson but I dunno how much he'll command in regards to our cap space. Fuck it, Pitts from Florida is my one and only #SIIE draft target and I don't even follow prospects like that. But since we love TEs and shit, we might as well if he's in our vicinity.

not team is ever perfect - but i think especially the last 2 offseasons there's been a clear flaw in our team that the offseason had to fix

the 2019 offseason was spectacular with the offensive remodel but it wasn't thought of as "important" in the same way for anyone except lamar who was working his ass off in florida on his mechanics

but the offseason should always be important unless you've won the superbowl
