he also specifically brought up the passing game when asked about the area that most needed improvement this offseason (and mentioned screens)
my guess is if someone maybe phrased the question a bit better they might have got a better (and less defensive) answer
I agree with this. Harbaugh will never be the guy to criticize or fire a coach publicly. The question is, since HE realizes and concedes that it's a problem, will he either hire additional coaches to address Roman's shortcomings or will the organization decide that supplementation to Roman is not the answer and move on to a more complete OC.
I don't have a problem with the supplementation idea, but Roman might. And that would be fine, he is free to go if he feels he's being supplanted in a some way. My only concern is continuity. Too many hands in the cookie jar and too many egos in the room could be a huge problem.
If a bold move is made to lock Lamar up, a similarly BOLD move needs to be made to pair him with the best possible OC; a guy who will accentuate Lamar's special skill set while also developing the players around him and being a voice in acquiring players who can help the system. But to sign Lamar and be wishy-washy in OC's like the team was for the seasons after the SB with Joe Flacco, Lamar is doomed to that same kind of demise, I believe.
