I didn’t even think you needed ONE first for Stafford. Good lord. Rams just keep trying to buy championships and it’s hilarious. I guess that’s what happens when the LA pressure gets to you. Literally no one lives in St. Louis

I kinda figured they would get at least one first round pick back, I thought maybe a team like Washington would give up their first this year for him to try to win. I didn't think they would get two first round picks but they don't even get them until 2022 & 2023.

I’d love to have him but do we assume the remaining 17.5 million on his contract? A 2021 3rd rounder or 2022 2nd seems fair , any more and I’m not sure it’s worth it unless we’re talking additional late round picks

Will see. The Rams team isn't going to look the same in 21 as it did in 20. They'll still have some cuts to make. I think they'll lose a good portion of their Oline, and will need to replace them via the draft, which now contains less draft picks.

Zero percent chance we would land Watt on a $17.5M cap hit. Only way we get him is if Houston cuts and we sign and backload.

Yea I was curious if we would be on the hook for the full 17.5 million. Also if it was even possible for an NBA type trade where’s we’re not taking on the full contract

I mean its possible that you could get Houston to pay a portion of it, but that just means they'll want better compensation in the trade. Regardless, Ravens probably can't afford to sign anybody who has a cap hit of like north of $10-12M this offseason. So in order to get Watt here, you'd need to sign him to some sort of an extension to lower his current cap hit, or, ask him to take a straight paycut of like 50%, which he almost certainly would decline to do.
Its not impossible that he would be a Raven (especially if he gets released), but its certainly not a high probability either.

Yea I’m sure a team will outbid us. I appreciate cheering for an organization that understands a players value and normally won’t over extend themselves. Maybe we’ll get lucky and he wants to come play for a proven winner. I certainly wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t want to come to Baltimore. Reduced salary, high state taxes, cold weather ...etc. Still ya never know since the Ravens have been knocking on the door of the championship.

I'm sure he'd love it here. I just think there are other contending teams who will be willing to pay more than what we can afford.
