Dom I feel like the pundits are living rent free in your head lol. Who takes shows like first take seriously. All those talking heads are a bunch of boobs getting paid to virtue signal and start controversy.

Will only get worse until training camp... Where the pressure will then truly ramp up if Lamar can get it done.

Rossi we agree on a lot more than you think.
1. The offense needs an upgrade. A combination of players and scheme.
2. The running game while impressive, is not sustainable over the life of Lamar’s future contract. I do not believe Lamar 3 years from now will be out running defenders. Essentially he needs to make the jump in the passing game. I think he does that in a different offensive scheme with a slight upgrade in personnel.

We’ve built an entire offense around Lamar that has been great. We set records and went to back to back divisional rounds. However, at this point it’s hard to have confidence in the current system and players in place to make the leap from contender to Super Bowl. Our defense played two fantastic games in the playoffs, while the offense looked “ meh”. I imagine all the player frustrating is spilling over because they are way more talented than their performance reflects but feel limited by our current scheme.

Even if lamar could outrun defenders in 3yrs, i dnt think this offense will win us a bowl. Not unless lamar improves himself in the passing game.

Completely agree. I’m just frustrated because Lamar maybe ready now to take the next time in the passing game but we’re stuck in our ways with this offense. I would just like to know one way or the other. I’d rather get him a few weapons, change the offense, and see what he can do. Seems like a better plan than running our way to a 10-6 record and stumbling again in the playoffs ...

I dnt think we should change completely but instead just not be so one dimensional so that once we get in playoffs, we arent as easy to game plan for. We also need to get lamar to not stare down wrs and have him look to the outside wrs early.. saw like two plays during games where dez was wide open off the line when they tried to press him. He is suppose to know things like that is possible instead of waiting till route is developed to throw it. As of right now...till lamar develops more, we have to run this run heavy offense. I got faith im him next season though.

This is a legitimate question. Has Lamar not proved himself in the passing game? Over the last 2 years, outside of about one 4 game stretch this year, he's been pretty dynamite hasn't he? Also when he was struggling, I think our OLine was in shambles and the run game wasn't working too well. I'm not saying Lamar is Aaron Rodgers, but what I'm saying hasn't Lamar been good when his guy is open and he's not being mauled? The real issue for me is far too often even if he's not getting mauled, his guy isn't open. I think we're running a passing system that isn't super separation friendly and our actual regime is just not that great. Not trying to be some sort of apologist, but like what is the guy supposed to do.

The staring down defenders I believe is in direct correlation to the lack of route options in our passing tree or guys were sending out. It’s seems we have two routes, that vary slightly on the outside and a crosser in the middle every time.

I don’t think Lamar can grow much and become a complete QB in this system. He isn’t asked to do very much right now, which is great when it’s working, but when it comes to making checks at the line it gets us in a lot of trouble.

I think Lamar has been great with what he has been asked to do. That’s why I want to challenge him and adjust to a more balanced attack. I think he will step up to the challenge and take this team to the next level.

Lamar does most of his damage running on designed pass plays that break down. I’d love to see us go more 3 and 4 wide. ...... Also finding a receiver who can beat man coverage.

He misses a lot of wide open throws that most qbs will make 90% of time.. that one to andrews vs bills when he threw it side arm for no reason. A few bombs to hollywood. I do think he is good enough to win us a bowl with just a few tweaks to his game but right now he isnt ready

During packers game when they played 5 yards back on adams, they immediately aud to a screen. Vs bills, on a 3rd down i think.. lamar was forced to give the ball to edwards, when if he would have kept it he likely wouldve scored. We need to give lamar more control of the offense. Now if he cant read defenses pre snap thats another story

Right , at this point we have nothing to lose. Let Lamar be Lamar and run the show.

I’m really hoping this is just Harbs being stubborn and unwilling to relinquish control. The alternative is Jackson can’t do all the things we’re hoping for, and the coach’s see it in practice so they protect him on game day.

Exactly. Open up the offense, let Lamar run things, and see what happens. We can't keep going into the playoffs with a limited passing game and expect to just roll teams by running the football. If Lamar isn't up to the task then that's a whole different problem, but we have to at least let him try.

Sadly , i think we’re stuck with Roman for another year. The guy has had great success initially with his QBs and then they all faded. Whomp whomp

With both Flacco and now Lamar, there's one common denominator here regarding having control of the offense, making pre-snap decisions/changes, and getting the playcall in fast: Harbaugh

It sounds weird, but I don't think it's far fetched to say that there are a number of parallels between Lamar and NBA's Damian Lillard. Stay with me, folks.

Most would say that both Mahomes and Curry are the faces of their respective leagues. Almost everyone is in agreement that these two are not human based on their unique skillsets. Welp....we've seen the comparisons between Mahomes and Lamar AND Curry and Dame. But just like Lamar, Dame STRUGGLES winning games against Curry's Warriors which lead to damn near everyone saying something around the likes of "See, stop comparing Dame to Curry." Haven't we've seen the same when we lose to the Chiefs?

Oh.....(somewhat of a) fun fact: both Lamar and Dame are on the covers for the latest video games for each league. And while I'm a Ravens fan, I'm also a Blazers fan so there's that.

important context for whenever we think about lamar and what he's done since he took over here - that stretch from 2013 to 2017 was not fun... outside of 2014 (which was a lot of fun)

2014 was hella fun. That 2nd half of the Browns pt. 2 game to end the regular season was lit AF. While it sucked that our offense was struggling to begin the game, it was so dope to see the crowd get that loud to get us back in the game.

2015, on the other hand? Pain...........torture.................torment..............agony.

the fact that ryan mallet was not only not the worst QB to start a game for us that season but not even the 2nd worst QB to start a game for us that season is ridiculous

Until Dame wins MVP then the answer is no to me lol

At the same time I hate these comparisons because basketball players play at both ends of the floor lol
