Not a good way to start Super Bowl week... Britt Reid, Linebackers Coach and the son of Andy Reid was involved in a car crash that injured 2 children and severely injured another. Reid admitted to the officer he had 2-3 drinks before. Wow... what a POS.

Fuck that guy, hope sits in jail for a while. Could have killed those poor kids. Just call Uber !

“A 5-year-old child in the backseat of the Traverse suffered life-threatening injuries and a 4-year-old -- also sitting in the backseat -- suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Both children were taken to a local hospital.”

5 year old kid may die because dip shit wanted to have a few drinks and drive. I wish the NFL took this stuff more seriously... two-three game suspensions are a joke.

Drew Brees may still be retiring but he is being a team player by opening up $24M in cap space for the Saints. What this basically does is add years to the deal where it is spread out, though they still got to do some crazy restructures as this now puts them at $75M over the cap.

So he has two "voidable years" in 2022-2023, where he'll count $5.75M, but he did take a very large "paycut" for 2021 to give the Saints cap space. My understanding is its post-June 1 though.

And yes, they still have a LOT of work to do.

Well, couple things here:
1. No word yet on if he was "legally drunk". I understand some will say it doesn't matter, but laws allow for a certain level of alcohol consumption, based on studies of how it impacts impairment. If he's above the limit, then I agree with you. If he's legally under the limit, its hard to argue impairment is much of a factor.
2. The NFL really shouldn't have anything to do with this. They're not in the criminal justice business. This is a matter for law enforcement. If they take it seriously, then the NFL will have no choice to. If he's in jail or on significant legal constraints, then he won't be playing in games (if he were a player) or coaching in games (if he were a coach).

Like Ray Rice's punishment was exponentially worse from the Ravens and the NFL than it was from the legal system. We could argue all day long whether that's right or wrong or not, but the bottom line is... private, for-profit institutions are not qualified to be in the outside-of-business punishment business. They should be following the lead of the judicial systems in this Country who's job it is to adjudicate these matters. If they take it seriously, the NFL should. If they don't, then they probably shouldn't, unless it's directly impacting its business model.

I get what your saying, but your ideas are based on the premise that the criminal justice system works. It’s clearly flawed and favors those who are well off financially. Kansas City’s team of lawyers
will throw endless resources to drag out the legal process until the state or family are worn down. Ending in a minor settlement. Reason one the NFL needs to step in.

Reason two: This isn’t some run of the mill accounting firm or mom and pop shop. The NFL has the eyes of the world constantly on them. To continue to employee someone (or not severely punish )who nearly killed a child while driving intoxicated is a bad look.

At the end of the day the NFL couldn’t care less because the almighty dollar matters most , anything they implement is superficial. Just doesn’t feel right morally to me , to allow him to coach in the Super Bowl until the investigation is complete.

Did they give OROY to the wrong Justin?

I mean sure most say this is just a QB award but Herbert was just on another level. Jefferson had a great year and all but no way this award was going to anyone but Herbert. Barring a Joe Burrow like injury to Trevor, I think we can lock in Trevor Lawrence for OROY in 2021.

Knew Kevin Stefaniski was a lock to win COY but it was hard to argue that McDermott should have been COY too.

All the more reason to hold onto quality offensive lineman regardless of which side they want to play

Really no complaints for the Hall of Fame selections this year, though I was surprised Calvin Johnson got in as a first ballot. Looks like too they are doing a double induction as they will induct the 2020 Class along with the 2021 Class this year. The Hall of Fame Game will be set for August 5th, 2021 between the Cowboys & Steelers, the HOF game scheduled for last year.

JJ being salty - TJ bested him in statistical categories as an EDGE - Donald's doing it as a DT often vs double and triple teams (not saying TJ doesnt face double-teams but they're not the same lol - donald's doubled 70% of his snaps)

like you can argue that Donald winning it is boring and take the view that if belichick wasn't winning coach of the year every year that there's clearly a narrative element to these awards

but Donald is just so good that it's hard to argue against him for DPOY basically every year

honestly think Xavien Howard should have been the guy most aggrieved not to win with 10 INTs in 1 year
