It's reasons like his mom, his brother, and his fiance are prolly why I'll hate the Chiefs more than I ever did for the Pats. Such sore losers. Never mind the fact that her son didn't play THAT well either but that's neither here nor there.
Unfortunately so much success brings out those kinds of fans. The past few years I rooted for the Chiefs because it was fun to see someone other than the Pats dominating, but now they're winning too much and all I want is for the Ravens to take them down.

The game is always won in the trenches. The make shift chiefs line couldn’t hang. All the more reason NOT to trade a quality player like Brown.

I hate the idea of trading a proven player for unproven draft picks.

This stat line is incredible. More importantly though, this also serves as a reason we COULD get a first round pick back for him as well.

Yea that’s crazy , Mahomes was running for his life. Not even sure Lamar could have escaped those pressures

The team that ran the ball and played good defense beat the high flying chiefs offense in the super bowl.

can we stop suggesting Lamar needs to be a 4000 yard passer to win a chip...

just need to not be 1 dimensional - what harbs said in his presser is exactly right - we want to be the most efficient passing attack in the league - that doesn't mean we actually have to be throwing the ball all the time - just that we're really good at it when we do

I like Queen and Dobbins but...

Watching Mahomes run for his life , all i could think about was “ damn I hope we can figure out a way to keep Brown”. The game is always won in the trenches and I hate the idea of trading a proven quality player for unproven draft picks.

But i thought teams were shying away from pass rushers cause teams can just get the ball out fast? Im sorry but that never made any sense to me and never will. Def need a decent pass rush in this lg

i mean it's pretty clear that CBs are now more important than edge rushers - but it's not like the position has no value...

EDC said as much in his season-ending presser - you do still have to have a pass rush to be successful even as the backend becomes more important

it certainly helps the Bucs that they were great in both trenches and almost everywhere on their team - secondary probably their weakest unit but Carlton Davis and Antoine Winfield Jr have been pretty great and they've got decent play from some other guys who aren't necessarily highly regarded league-wide

it definitely helps that the Chiefs were missing both OTs and Reid didn't help them (for once) by adding extra blockers to the equation which meant that the pass rush was getting pressure in 2.5 seconds

Exactly, that is the difference between early season Brady bucs, and post bye/postseason Brady bucs, defense gelled, run game worked, pass game became efficient and they stopped airing it out, that’s when the bucs turned it tf on and breezes through the playoffs

The chiefs OL was in shambles, and the receivers were dropping balls left and right, they played heavy zone so the screen game wasn’t an option; and Andy Reid never even bothered to run the ball. Also as great as their front four played, their LBs in coverage sealed the deal and Tampa’s secondary is no slouch either, Davis, Murphy-bunting, dean, Winfield, these guys are a solid group.

Out of curiosity (and because I'm too lazy to look them up), what were some of our passing efficiency numbers and ranks?

iirc I think we finished the season 17th in passing DVOA (but cant access the stat but i believe that's what harbs said in the presser) - in overall offensive DVOA we finished 11th (which tells you a lot that despite yet again having a great running game it doesn't actually create a ton of extra efficiency vs the passing game - the gains we make this offseason as a passing unit are going to be exponentially more impactful than any gains/losses made in the running game even if we maintain a run-first mentality)

for what it's worth here's some stats presented without comment:

we had the 11th most efficient offence
we had the 9th most efficient defence
we had the 2nd most efficient special teams (back to normal)

finished 7th in the league in total DVOA

Oh dont get me wrong. I always preferred a great cb over a great pass rusher however, this game was a no brainer and super easy for me. Much as i wanted kc to win i just had to bet on bucs simply cause of their pass rush vs kc tackles and kc bad pass rush vs bucs oline and all those weapons( the team who really has the best weapons in football)..i legit thought of nothing else. Bucs secondary isnt good by any means but all the pressure and different looks fucked kc up. They were going from cover 2 to man to other stuff that looked different. I just think its whatever you prefer or what your dc is good at

it certainly helps that shaq barrett has been absolutely lethal since he joined the Bucs

how on earth did this dude go udfa in 2014?

Todd Bowles has been great coaching that defence all year
