I don't have League knowledge and stuff but if Philipps get drafted in the first I'll fall off my couch.

for the medical reasons?
if so i'd agree

tape-wise i think he's probably the most talented EDGE in the class - he's the best package of all the different elements of edge in this class - speed, bend, lateral movement and change of direction skills, pass rush plan, rush moves and counter moves, hands and more

he's the guy who's the most complete guy - ojulari is bendier, paye is more explosive, there's a few guys who are longer (odeyingbo, smith, rousseau), basham is stronger, toney's got a quicker get-off, oweh's traitsier

but phillips is in all of those conversations

Yeah for medical reasons. Tape is 1st round non doubt, but the off field is as bad as it gets. Like worse than Maurice Hurst.

genuinely could go udfa or get drafted as a flier on day 3

the only thing in his favour is the fact he got through this whole year unscathed and in good health - obviously there's long-term concerns but that's a good sign
Considering that like 90% of players taken in the 5th round and beyond don't make the team anyway, I would absolutely use a late round pick on him.

I've been seeing this Mock for the Ravens draft @ #27. S Trevon Moehrig from TCU. He is slotted as the "best" safety in the draft. Question: If that is the case; do you really believe that this cat will be available to us @ #27? I doubt it!

I wouldn’t touch moehrig at 27, no way in hell. His anticipation is lacking and he’s late to the ball far too often. Reminds me a lot of HHCD where he gives up the completion but makes the tackle, just too many keys he should’ve read on tape that he just didn’t and instead reacted to the throw.

his partner in crime ardarius Washington I think is a far superior prospect, reminds me of honey badger/Darnell savage, and I think he would take tavon young’s job by week 1 and come year 2 he would be a key cog for us.

also I think Richie grant is head and shoulders the top safety prospect. Much stickier in man, much more explosive when breaking to the play, anticipatory and not reactionary

haha interesting - i've got ar'darius washington and richie grant as safety 1 and 2 also lol - i think grant's probably the guy i'd take on most teams but i think washington's probably the guy who's the better fit on wink's defence but they've got the same grade from me - if washington was 3 inches taller no one would be batting an eyelid about him being a clear 1st round pick

i like jevon holland too

with moehrig i love the range, i love the playmaking and i love that he clearly trusts his instincts and jumps routes - but it can lead to him losing track of his surroundings sometimes or he can be caught peaking in the backfield and open himself up to double-moves etc. - surprisingly good in man though - i like him but i don't like him more than the other 3 guys and i dont like him in the 1st round at all

Saw one mock where the Ravens picked Creed Humphrey in the first. I'd be kinda torn. Feels like the value wouldn't be great, and I doubt he'd be the best player available. On the other hand, he's far from the worst option, and would be a quality starting C for the next decade. Could see him as underwhelming at the time but seen as a great pick in retrospect. Though I'd like it more if we grabbed him after trading down.

I mean value wouldn't be great but my god the fit would be perfect

It would play out the same way the Travis Frederick pick played out, we get shitted on for taking this guy in the first, then he turns out an elite center and maybe the leagues best for a fairly long stretch and nobody would question it anymore.

if we take any OL at 27 and they turn out a quality high end starter, I’m happy, to hell with the perceived values lol.

Saw a three round mock draft on PFF:

Rashod Bateman
Joe Tryon
Andre Cisco

This would be a great first three rounds for the Ravens.
