i honestly think he's getting 15m/yr maybe more - whether that puts him out of our range remains to be seen (i think it probably does if we're remotely looking at offensive linemen which Zrebiec seems fairly confident we are)

See I'm with you. I'm not saying it's right, but I think a minimum for him would be around $13M with $15M or more not out of the question on a multi-year deal. He's your quintessential WR2 but if there are no WR1s on the market, his value goes up a bit even in a down year.

like i get the argument that he's not as good as the other guys who're making that money - but none of those deals were signed recently

I mean, Robby Anderson got 2 for $20M last offseason, and the only real difference in productivity between the two is target share.
Tyler Boyd's is less than two years old also.

Not to go too far down the rabbit hole, but think these guys are more outliers.

Robby Anderson had a pretty long list of character concerns and the Panthers and Jets were reportedly the only 2 teams that were really in on him. He's got a lot more variables as to why he didn't get more.

Tyler Boyd got a good deal but he would have gotten more on the open market.

Right but I think we're going to find out they're not outliers.

I think Davis is going to be stuck in the "middle class" of FA's, meaning not in the upper tier of guys. And in this particular year, I think the middle class is going to get raked over badly in FA.

And I think a lot of the concerns teams have had with guys like Anderson will be shared, to a different degree, with Davis. I don't see a lot of teams forking over $15M+ for a #2 WR. So any team that's going to sign him in that range is going to expect large production with high target volumes, which I don't think he will get here or many other places.

if that's the case then im happily in on Davis at a depressed pricetag

i just dont see him being in that middle class - i hope he is because then it's realistic for the ravens to bring him over but i think he's getting more money than you think he is

Yeah they can have JJ Watt at that cost. We definitely aren't getting him if it's about money and that's what he is being offered.

After the Judon incident its ballsy to come out with any offer from "sources".

What if we’re the ones that that offered him that lol

i thought this had already been happening...

This seems like a very odd report. Maybe the two sides had been trying to work something out for the last few weeks? I doubt it but can't think of any other reason they'd wait to start these investigations until now.

i wonder if it's in relation to a specific offer or deal that might be formulating...

idk otherwise - seeing a lot of stuff on social media about the jags but also likely nothing lol

just odd timing

I’d be really disappointed if we got anything less than LA’s 13th. Wishful thinking but I wanted Big Drip to be a Raven for life

Orlando for DJ Chark, Pick 25 and Pick 33 lol. Give us that extra first round pick.
