absolutely, this was a good trade and it's not like we are giving up a top notch pass blocker. Although PFF isn't the end all be all, he is graded 70 which is good, but not great. We get a value of a 40th pick. That's damn good and now can trade down with one of those picks or take two first rounders. Sounds like a great trade to me.
I don't remember complaining too much about his play at LT last year ,even in pass protection.

If Ronnie is not ready to start the season, that means we have two Pro Bowl tackles MIA. No center or right guard . We got Bozeman at LG .

I thought we were going to give Lamar some help here on the oline!!????? We are in a precarious position to start training camp.

i mean you're complaining like we arent about to draft at least 4 guys in the first 2 days of the draft - at least 1 of those guys is likely to be OL and possibly more than 1

Yeah i hear ya but are any of the picks a sure thing. Pro Bowl Brown did a damn good job at LT when Ronnie went down.

I want to trade up now and select a blue chip player, but totally understand the rationale of trading back

i dont want to give up this newly acquired capital to go up and get 1 player tbh

but in case you were interested, the 2 1st rounders we have would (on trade chart values) get us up to 11th

that being said, we now have the ammo that if a top guy was falling (especially a tackle) we'd have the ability to get ahead of the steelers and still probably have plenty of picks left in the draft

Any edge rushers that would be worth trading up for?

I think the whole giving up a second thing is blown outof proportion and that's just because of who we traded him to. At the end of the day, we just traded back into the first round and packaged Orlando as part of the deal.

This will be the third time in Franchise history we will have 2 first round picks.

1996:
4 - JO
26 - Ray Lewis

2000:
5. Jamal Lewis
10. Travis Taylor
4th. We had two 1st rounders in 2018 when we drafted Hurst and Lamar, athough we did trade into the 1st. Not sure if you are counting that

You just had to say that didn’t you. Now I want 11 for Waddle or Smith lol. AV can man the right side for a couple years

Pro Bowl Brown also would have been here 1 more year and would have netted us a 3rd round comp pick in 2023... 2 years from now. I think Orlando Brown is a great player but is he the one guy that is the difference between winning a SB or not? I highly doubt it.

We stole him in the draft. I guess we will see if this trade was worth it.

not but this is the best and deepest OT draft i think i've ever seen

clearly the chiefs dont agree - but i think it's also worth pointing out that a lot of the guys projected and graded towards the end of the 1st/early 2nd project better at RT than LT so it may be that the chiefs were really in the market for a LT in a class of RTs...

on my board though, there are 15 tackles with day 1 and day 2 grades and that doesnt include alijah vera tucker who can probably play tackle (but i have graded as a guard) and trey smith (who some might project to tackle but i prefer him at guard)

i think there's lots of tackles available in all of the first 4 rounds of this draft
there's also lots of interior OL in that sort of range too

compared to previous classes, I'd say OL has best depth of any position in the draft and only WR is even close (with CB and EDGE also being strong on day 1 and 2)
