2021 NFL Draft Gameday Draft Thread

What position will the Ravens select with their first pick in the draft?

  • Total voters
    29
  • Poll closed .
I don't know. I think Safety is a position we should address. Elliott is in the final year of his contract and he's more of a SS. I'd love Johnson or Ardarius Washington and both are still on the board
I see. I still don't get how our FO thinks getting a player to switch position (in day 2) is a better idea than getting someone who's always played single deep and even do so within a reasonable time.
This Christmas just doesn't feel like every other year's

no idea - but this is one of the smallest classes ever in terms of draftable players and players hoping to be udfas too
2022 expected to be much bigger according to lots of experts - but idk about the strengths yet
a few years ago, maybe 2017 give or take a year or two. That was a very bad class in terms of depth. Think it was worst that year than it was this year.

I honestly do not think this draft class is as bad as advertised, but we had a lot less of a look at players than expected. There are probably going to be more UDFA and lower round picks who succeed this year versus previous years due to the sheer lack of knowledge on players.

Right now neither Boykin nor Duv are going to be seeing much playtime as a WR, barring a jump in skill from either one, as Duv cannot beat any coverage whatsoever and Boykin's route running is awful. However, they actually do bring value in something unlike proche.
proche also has an extra year of control and more of a chance to develop at this point in his career - also can return punts if duv's not able to go - better route runner than boykin and duvernay - and better hands and more physical at the catch-point than both too

The way The Ravens were using Earl Thomas and other it's clear that they like for their safeties to be versatile and do alot . If they think the cornerback they drafted can do that then I understand that. The guy was orignially a running back and went on to become a starting cornerback for another team. That really shows hard work and probably even adaptability along with smarts. His upside may be better than any safety that is available currently or before he was picked.

zrebiec said today that they'll probably try him at corner - just EDC saying that the front office think he could be a high-level FS

in terms of number of guys who got agents for the draft this year was the smallest by a mile

my guess is partly that's because lots of the seniors who would normally have been forced to try and enter the draft were able to opt-in to playing again in college another year

I agree here, I don’t get the hate on this class, I’ve seen a lot of really good looking prospects falling

i dont think it's a bad draft class - just a small one - i think there's lots of talent at the top - but not very much depth at all

Lamar and Boykin just don’t click. Their personalities probably don’t match. Funny lamar didnt tag him in

In regards to this draft class, reporters have said they've heard from multiple teams who have said it's one of the weakest they've ever seen. Teams feel like they'll be picking typical UDFAs starting toward the end of the 5th. UDFAs will be guys lucky to get a tryout in normal years. It's a weak class in terms of depth without question. Doesn't mean there won't still be quality players though.

there'll be some udfas who are more like typical udfas (the guys who dropped for medical reasons or maturity reasons etc.)

I’ve been thinking for a while this is an issue, he doesn’t seem to be in the circle, his swagger doesn’t match, it shows up in his play as well, he’s a timid and kinda nervous guy in general it seems. He also wasn’t in AZ for the throwing sessions either when he should’ve been the first damn one on the plane
