Mostly because you would have gotten a 3rd or 4th round comp pick in 2023, most likely, if you let him walk. Plus, another year of OBJ on this team would have been extremely valuable, given where we are as "contenders". I think people just sort of "ignore" the fact that you would have had a great player, for cheap, on the roster for another year.

Lol. We are great in the regular season, sure. But we aren’t legit super bowl champs this year. I would MUCH rather have a guy who can possibly be a freak of nature and who could make life hell for Mahomes than a one year RT rental and a couple mid rounders

Edit: I completely believe in the next 2-3 years we have every chance of getting a super bowl. I just know our offense needs time to gel and develop, as much potential as it now has. That’s why I said not this year. I could be completely surprised and I’d be one of the happiest here though if this was our year

Hei ho! Pippiti pepete someone has a said a spaghetti?:D
Glad for the AV signing.
I guess someone between the veteran pass rushers might join us on a friendly deal with the hope to make it far in the playoffs.
A short term deal, like 2 years, with the 2nd year numbers mostly performance related,, maybe?!
At least, that's what I hope

I am very mixed here... should I give a laugh react or a winner react LOL

A truly authentic Italian lasagna is what has me.... I love Maggianos for that reason, plus the four course meal part of it too for two...
Atlhougth I like Maggianos for a good quality chain, there are so many family owned Italian Restaurants I like better across the B-W corridor

I don’t even know why people keep whining about OBJ. There’s absolutely no way he would’ve stayed past this season for us. For us to have gotten literally anything for him is incredible. Some bring up bandaids with AV. Well to be honest, AV has a far greater chance of still contributing to us in 2022 than OBJ had, had he stayed this year. Think of the future sometimes, folks
He was clearly gone and I think we made the right move. If you even look at it from a different angle he could’ve signed with KC next year and been in the same spot but would’ve had a lower 3rd since the 3rd we got from KC this year would be our conditional pick two years from now and would be higher than any conditional 3rd regardless.

Or maybe we don’t even see him as really good. This is a move where we could be setting up our biggest rival. He fell to the third round not because he tested out unathletic, but because to test that poorly you have to be LAZY and not condition yourself, his weight and conditioning hasn’t been consistent since then, and while we’re trying to build a super bowl team he is worried about himself and himself only. Notice the only player who had anything to say about his departure was mark andrews, because they’re literally best friends off the field and have been for a very long time, everybody else had crickets for him. I think the second Orlando took to Twitter, our whole team was ready to see what we can get for him, and when he was gone i think a lot of guys said good riddance.

we got a first, a third, and a fourth, to send an unathletic and lazy, run first OT to our biggest rival who airs it out 40 times a game and takes 10-15 yard drop backs and holds the ball consistently, to be their top dollar franchise LT.

honestly, the more I think about it, the more I think Eric is playing chess with the chiefs. Yeah they rebuilt the OL brilliantly, but if the most expensive man on that unit turns out to be one of their worst starters, then goddamn was it a good move.
Thank you. Fully agreed
I think that’s a bit unfair to Brown Jr. I think he’s a really good football player. Maybe you can question his motivation after getting a pay day but he’s a good player man. I definitely think he’s better than AV. Just being real there, I don’t want to crap on Brown because he’s gone. He’s a really good football player and probably the best RT we’ve had in a decade or more. Wagner was good but Brown I think was better IMHO.
as it's been said before.

You can say we swapped Villanueva for Zeus
swapped a 2nd for a 1st
received our 3rd round comp pick two years early
received an additional 4th round pick (2021)
and traded our 2022 6th for 2022 5th round pick.

Yes, I agree, it was good to get something for him other than a 3rd round comp pick, that wasn't guaranteed, in 2023.
That’s how I see it.

This is absolutely true but it also means you get another year of RT and swing tackle too. No doubt we lost cap space for a cheap and extremely quality player but we also got potentially another year of a very very good player as well albeit a potentially declining player.
If you include villanueva in then you do have to add the increased salary cap cost into the equation too
We also got him for another year unlike Brown who would need to be franchised. In this scenario we have less stress next year for retaining free agents because our RT won’t be unless we release him.

Amicci’s is my favorite in Little Italy.

I guess that's the clearest way one could put it. You're absolutely right.

I should probably put it out there that I do think brown is at worst a borderline stud, but the way mahomes and Reid play, I’m not sure he’s the man for the job lol.

now they could offer us 2 firsts and I wouldn’t give up Stanley to the chiefs, because that’s a dream fit, not just because we’d lose Stanley but also I ain’t tryna face mahomes with Stanley on the left side. That’s a different ball game.

I will have to try that place out! On football terms... I think we are overrating Brown in a typical offensive system based on his Dad and the fact we make any offensive linemen look at least a little better than what they really are

I live in Montgomery County, MD so tend to go to Italian Restaurants in the area but have some I really like in Little Italy, like Amicci's.
