didn't realize this was posted so I posted it in the Hollywood thread. I believe Rossi may have said this a few weeks ago.
idk about that - flacco was a great raven who had a great run for us - but 55 and 73 can be legit be considered amongst the best to do it at their position... you can't say that about joe
and it's possible that we do see guys in 55 and 73 in the future - but it's probably too soon for that if they are ever brought back into circulation
as far as im concerned this is the hierarchy of numbers in order...

Think I'm in the heavy minority here but single digit numbers all look terrible in the NFL except for Tucker's 9.
mitchell schwartz has been one of the more interesting players on twitter this offseason - love how much he's been taking an interest in stuff like this and the culture of generally poor OL coaching at HS level that's not just not teaching kids good technique but actively teaching and encouraging bad technique (the first is somewhat expected, the second is frustrating)
As long as he doesn't just play well in the playoffs I'm cool with the change.

I think it should be. You don’t retire every number of a great player IMO, ray, Ed, and JO weren’t just arguably among the best, they arguably are THE best, and with ray and Ed there aren’t many arguments to support any player being better than them at their positions. And beyond that, JO and ray were the first real ravens.
And as much as I rock with sizzle and yanda, they aren’t in the same universe as the big 3. Just 2 different tiers of players entirely and if you retire those numbers then by the time you become an old franchise you won’t have many numbers to give out lol

Well, there has been so much hype about Ben Cleveland, it worries me.
i agree but i think sizzle and yanda should fet their jersey retired for sure.. yanda kept this oline afloat for yeaaaaars. Played through injuries after injuries... sizzle, just a mf Raven at heart like he was born to play here. I mean he even hates brady lol. Smarter than any player that currently plays his position and id take prime suggs over miller and mack tbh. Shit even belicheck praises him

For fans, its mostly they buy jerseys with names/numbers on them, and then the players change their numbers.
Which is why I stopped by jerseys with player names/numbers on them about a decade ago.

The concern over numbers is dumb as fucking hell...
It's all about the jersey colors. Beter see black on black at least once this season for prime time. Also the purple and black pants.
