Daaaamn I be forgetting that the US is stupid as fuck.

although, as someone who was drinking regularly at 18, I don’t think it’s the wrong idea lol. I was an absolute fucking hooligan getting drunk at 18 and if I was legally allowed to get wrecked in public I would’ve been put in jail so many times lol

kids in the UK be getting drunk in the park at 14 lol or even younger

I can't comment in US habits but I was born and raised in a turistic town (Rimini, IT) and have been living in souther Germany for 5 years.
The type, quantity of alcohol AND the goal you're drinking for couldn't be more different between the 2.

Back home, if you're out partying or there's girls involved you're going to have cocktails.
If you're in a restaurant you're going to order some wine, matching with the food.
In any case, this will rarely turn into an addiction because the reasons (anniversaries, girls) are limited in time and tend to be particularly expensive lol

Here in Bavaria drinking is part of their mindset: you're going to see people of any age gathering EVERY weekend and get devastated with the mere purpose to get drunk. Talking 4-5L (like over 1Gallon) as standard measure.
Beer is cheap and you're going to see people opening bottles on their way home on fridays, on trains (Feierabendbier, literally the 'post work celebrating beer'), to a point they stark drinking at home alone.

It's not necessarily a knock on the germans but it's very much reflecting of our social habits and interaction 'strategies'.
Pretty sure it's one of the things you'll never get to understand if you haven't been raised with it

the UK has a massive culture of pre-drinking to go along with the pre-drinking - you'll sometimes see people drinking on the train/bus etc. but mostly people aren't doing that a ton (it's illegal on lots of public transport to be drinking alcohol albeit not really enforced)
you pre-drink at home on the cheap basically having a party before you go out so that you don't have to spend much in the actual bar/club etc.

then again you also get tons of people who don't do that

but generally there's multiple drinking locations on most nights out - and taking one (or four) for the road is fairly common

In the US it’s mostly all about drinking with the purpose of getting drunk, however in the US we tend to be much less concerned with quality of alcohol and much more concerned with quantity and the pace you drink it at, in other words, pissy light beers in mass quantities going down as fast as possible.

at 19 years later old a night of drinking for me meant a 30 pack to myself and handing out 2-3 for the homies who needed one, so 27-28 beers in a night was standard. That’s a different life lol

Pregame is common here too. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve been pre gaming before we hit a party(still before 21) and then some other people show up to the pregame, and then a few phone calls later the pregame turns into a party and we never even leave the house lol

here it's all about finding the lowest and cheapest quantity of alcohol to get drunk - the 3 lt bottle of gross frosted jacks cider is a low point - but buying £10 bottles of vodka was how we got there when i was a kid and even through university

crates of beer are for getting there slowly lol - downing half a bottle of vod and letting it hit you just after you get to the club is both nostalgic and sickening to me

i cannot ever drink gin again

I can’t drink worth a fuck anymore: I’ve entirely replaced my drinking with smoking weed and it was for the best lol

No wonder you’re such a Monroe lover
I’m not, I just support his cause lol. I know it’s not his fault really but I’m pretty bitter about how bad that trade and signing impacted us long and short term. Like that really ended up screwing us

Eh, to be fair it wasn’t the worst of moves or the worst thing that screwed us over, but I was completely disappointed in it. I thought he was an elite LT and he ended up simply above average when he did play

I will say this though.... if weed was legal in the NFL, at least medicinal use of it, Josh Gordon would’ve ended up being a HOF player

Yeah it just went south after the move was made. At the time it was a GREAT move, but then his body broke tf down in 3 seasons

Absolutely love what someone over on RSR said about Hollywood and #5... they said something along the lines of a double digit number not being able to be fully seen on his small body. That 5 will actually be able to be seen, hopefully... LOL
