Been studying Bateman and Wallace film this week, the fuck we need Julio. Calling it now Bateman will be OROY and Wallace will be runner up.
I’m not gonna say OROY but I think the world is sleeping on Bateman in Baltimore. He could very well be “in it” like the same way Patrick queen was “in it”, like doesn’t really have a chance by default but playing right up near that level at times.

ima just come out and say it I think he leads us in most receiving categories. I think andrews tops him in TDs, but I think Bateman could lead the team in catches, yards, and YPRR, pretty hard to think for one second anyone tops Hollywood on YPC though.

but really, what would make that an unreasonable expectation? His film says he is ready to step into the NFL and run a full route tree and catch 60+ balls and with an improved OL I think Lamar can do that

If Justin Jefferson didn't get it last year, no way would Bateman get it this year and that's if Bateman puts up the stats Jefferson did. Unless something happens to Trevor, Zach, Bears stupidly don't start Fields, nobody else is winning that award.

This is the first time we've ever drafted a WR where I really feel like the guy is going to come in and contribute in a real way. I think he's our AJ Brown. He's gonna be big for us. And I think THAT makes Hollywood a lot better and Watkins too. That's 3 legit WR targets, so Andrews should benefit from that too. That was completely missing last year.

The market is cooling... With the cap being down this year, they chose a bad situation to try to deal. If they really want that 1st round pick, they are going to have to pay a bunch of that salary to do it. And with Julio wanting a new contract, that makes things more difficult, imo. And returning from injury... whether that's real or just perceived as a bargaining chip for inquiring teams, who knows.

What happens if ATL doesn't get the deal they want? Julio is going to have to play. If he sits out, whether out of principle or pouting, ATL might not get a sack of balls for him next year. I see a trade deadline deal. ;) ...or they take the best offer on the table within the next 3 weeks.

I was hype AF when we drafted Bateman and can't wait to see him in games. He definitely looks like the most pro-ready WR that we've drafted and should make an immediate impact.

I've wanted Bateman since the mid season. Of course whenever I want someone that long we never get him. I was completely stoked the Ravens saw it my way for once!

Stoked that A: Bateman was still there. And B: we actually took him instead of passing up on him/trading back like we did with DJ Moore and Calvin Ridley

I don't watch a lot of college football, but when I started watching highlight vids of potential WR draft picks for us, Bateman stood out immediately. Great hands, good route-runner, ability to get YAC, etc. He just looked solid all-around and I was hoping we would get the chance to take him, which we actually did for once.

Yeah I’m seeing way too much “rAvEnS fIrSt RoUnD wR bUsT” and “let’s see it on the field before we talk about him” but like... you’re comparing rashod Bateman to fucking breshad perriman. Name one person that didn’t have to talk themselves into liking the perriman pick, analysts and all, Bateman on the other hand was projected top 20 until he had a fucked up covid season, and even in that season he greatly improved positional flexibility and still put out a shortened seasons worth of clear first round tape.

Taylor, Clayton, perriman, Hollywood, Bateman, two of those guys were fringe first rounders at best, one was a clear day 2 guy, and the latter 2 were obvious first rounders with nfl ability on tape across multiple seasons. These first round WRs are in a whole different realm from all the others we took.

I thought there was no way he fell to us, and when he did I was all but certain we were about to pass on him, because that’s just what we do.

He also showed commitment, hard work and toughness to stick it out

I was so mad when we passed on Derwin James, Moore and Ridley. Fortunately we got Lamar in the end. But still to this day i'm not sure what made them pass on Ridley and instead selecting Hurst.

Man, Ridley and LJ would’ve been an elite combo…. I still think the Hurst pick was for Flacco more than anything else

Some places compared him to prime elite Ertz and some compared him to prime Dallas Clark. Both of which would’ve been excellent for a Qb like Flacco
