Was Mom Gene the only obvious female Mod? I remember her being cool
I didn't really know the gender of any other mods, though I'd take a guess they were predominantly, if not all others, male.
If you thought she was cool, you were probably in the minority. She was a Joe Flacco fan, not a Ravens fan, and she pretty much just looked for ways to ban people who thought Joe wasn't great. She also hated when I accused her of having "bad opinions", which I did daily.
I don't expect a lot from moderators, but I would generally expect all of them to have at least mild knowledge of the team that they're moderating a message board for. She, clearly, did not have that knowledge. I don't think she could name 10 Ravens players at any given time. She also routinely just made up salary cap stuff that made no sense and wasn't supportable.
She checked all of the boxes of what I would call a prototypical millennial. Expressed a ton of opinions that she knew nothing about, and was unreasonably fearful of being challenged on her opinions, being asked to defend them, or even worse, being proven wrong with actual information.
A typical day on those boards was her saying something stupid and trying to pass it off as fact, me proving her wrong, her saying that it was "her opinion" and she was allowed to have it, me telling her how it was a bad opinion, her telling me that there's no such thing as a bad opinion (I still chuckle at this occasionally) and then her trying to ban me for saying something mean to an adult.
She managed to permanently ban me off the Comments section after the 2018 season. She finally mustered up the courage to IP ban me, then I used a couple different IP address hider tools (don't ask, I can't remember what they are) to keep creating user names and posting how big of a POS she was. I mostly just wanted to see how many times she would ban me before she gave up. I eventually stopped caring and moved on, and I'm pretty sure she hasn't posted on there since like the early 2019 season, which not coincidentally, is right around the time Lamar start playing great and Joe was long gone.
I've heard from two other former posters that she literally just follows the message boards of whatever team Joe is playing for that year. Somebody sent me a screen shot of her posting on a Jets forum either late last year or earlier this offseason, saying how she didn't understand why the Jets felt the need to draft another QB, given that they already had a SB winner on their roster.
