Next Up: vs Bengals

I don’t think you understand how good some of their top players are, and how many solid players they have around them. Burrow, chase, and mixon is an elite trio, they’re gonna be a massive thorn in our balls for years. Higgins and Boyd give them one of the best wr corps in the league. They have what seems like a solid starter at half the positions on defense and the other half all seem to be having good seasons but the jury is still out(Eli apple for example).

this game, on paper, is absolutely not easy. I’m frankly more worried about them than I was about the chargers last week
The Chargers are still better than the Bengals

What makes them better though? There isn’t one area of their team where you can say the chargers are definitively better. Qb, wr corps, OL, RBs, run game, pass game, run D, pass D, the only real area the chargers have the upper hand is the pass rush.

I think everyone held the chargers in such high regard in the media for a few reasons, one being that they’re an LA team with a new hot shot qb, and two being that they beat the chiefs and browns in their little run. The bengals have the same record and also a young hot shot qb, and they are just such a shithole organization from such a small market that they aren’t getting the same hype level. The chargers were being shoved down our throats since they beat the chiefs, the bengals have been under the radar.

Na, Justin Herbert is miles ahead of Burrow, even if he wasn't against us. We got a big lead early and didnt let them play there style of ball. Ekler is actually a beast. and the chargers line is years ahead of the Bengals that is still a huge weakness for them.

I would even argue the Bengals have a better pass rush this year to keep this argument fair with Hendrickson.
Also Staley is much better than Taylor. Bengals definitely scare me though. Didn't realize how good their defense was until I saw the stats

Our biggest advantage will be getting to Burrow as he is shit when he gets pressured. Gonna need another stud game by Wink. We have to be way better at getting points than vs the Chargers, espically off turnovers because we definitely will get at least one. That will determine the game

I thought it was reported that Burrow is great against the blitz no? So, I expect a whole lot of 4 man pressure packages for Burrow. Confuse him with a show of blitz and pick him off. Easy peasy.

I thought I read somewhere that Burrow is phenomenal against the blitz?

great agains the blitz is a stat or measurement I dont really like as it is way to large of a generalization - using 5 people is considered a blitz and so is 11.
if you sack him then he cant throw it. if you dont then he can lol.
Also, no one else has Marlon Humphrey.

this is completely fair and is statically true- but if he is getting buried or alligator rapped as Edgar would call it by Odafe, he will get scared. espically if the bank is going. I am fairly pessimistic in general about our defense this year, but I would never bet against any qb outplaying Wink in the bank.

it requires context - herbert's been great against the blitz too but no one blitzes and disguises blitzes like Wink

and likewise chargers and bengals similarly able to punish blitzes vs off coverage with big plays to physical WRs...

the ravens put pressure on those throws (that have to come vs the blitz) because our corners play a ton of press man (which you dont actually see a ton in the NFL right now)

also worth pointing out that Chase has been great deep but he also has been basically the only guy winning deep in that offence - i think we see a ton of marlon man-marking chase tomorrow

in terms of pressures - we dont even need to sack him to affect the throw timings and route timings - and an incompletion via pressure is almost as good as a sack

Divisional games are almost always well contested. I don't expect Cincy to win, but I also don't expect them to be a pushover either. If we win by 14 or more I would be surprised, but I think if we do, it says more about the Ravens coming together than anything else after the injury and personnel roller coaster that started the season.

I’ve watched all the Bengal games, I live in Cincinnati, they are getting better no doubt but their offense has very slow starts, akin to some Flacco years where you knew something was there but it wasn’t quite ready. The packers ran all over the Bengals, they don’t really have a quality win yet. They’re a step below us, I think Herbert is playing just a little better than Burrow is

He hasn’t been under pressure much. Not all blitzes are created equal

The worst headaches I’ve ever had were when leaving the stadium after losses to the Bengals. There was a time when they seemed to own us in Baltimore.

I was at the Steve Smith OPI game, never been more mad leaving a stadium, highway robbery. The throw from Flacco on the run was incredible too, and Steve Smith made an unreal catch and run. So mad

Some of the most frustrating games. Either be losing and comeback just to lose. Or the opposite... and still lose.

Their safety flopped and I will not be convinced otherwise. Motherfucker sold that shit.
