I’m already seeing this crowd flat out deny that it’s happening."The Ravens are not designed to come from behind. What happens when they can't run the ball and Lamar has to throw them back into a game?"
That crowd will never address the comebacks this year.

I stg, I've yet to see folks actually continue to use that talking point this season.I’m already seeing this crowd flat out deny that it’s happening.
omg lamar hahaha - this dude just loves it too much lol
He's a little kid in the body of the best athlete in the sport.God I love that man.

I'm swollen with tremendous daddy pride!quoted from an nfl.com article from the last couple of days:
"Jackson and the Ravens are 6-2 and are currently positioned as the No. 2 seed in the AFC despite trailing in the fourth quarter in five of their eight games played this year. Jackson and Baltimore are 4-1 when trailing in the fourth quarter this year, for a winning percentage of .800 -- if it holds, that would surpass Peyton Manning's 2009 record for best winning percentage when trailing in the fourth quarter in a single season since 2000, among those with a minimum of five QB starts (Manning was 7-2 when trailing in the fourth quarter in 2009 and won NFL MVP).
Jackson, who was 0-4 in his regular-season career prior to this season when trailing by double digits at any point in the second half, is now 3-1 in that scenario in 2021. No QB since at least 2000 has more than four wins in a full season in games they trailed by double digits in the second half."
not only is lamar making comebacks, in classic lamar fashion, he's doing it in a potentially historical way

it genuinely feels like every week lamar's doing something (or lots of somethings) that no one's ever done before lol
He's impressive for sure but the NFL really does have a cottage industry in useless or badly contrived statistics!

It’s more like they record stats in an antiquated way, and now many fans see those as the only metrics that matter(example being people not counting Lamar’s rushing yards as yards) and now that the game is evolving and we have talents like Lamar Jackson, we have to start acknowledging the impressive statistical feats he’s pulled off, things that have never been done before, and so reading them off it sounds like they’ve just compiled a bunch of numbers to put him in his own category, but in reality he just IS in his own category because he’s doing once in a lifetime type of shitHe's impressive for sure but the NFL really does have a cottage industry in useless or badly contrived statistics!

I get it and I think you're right, but "games with 200 passing yards and 75 rushing yards" is arbitrary as hell. And it's not just these Lamar stats; so often in NFL analysis I see these weird, caveat-laden stats designed to either slate or pump up players based solely on what the author wants to argue. It’s more like they record stats in an antiquated way, and now many fans see those as the only metrics that matter(example being people not counting Lamar’s rushing yards as yards) and now that the game is evolving and we have talents like Lamar Jackson, we have to start acknowledging the impressive statistical feats he’s pulled off, things that have never been done before, and so reading them off it sounds like they’ve just compiled a bunch of numbers to put him in his own category, but in reality he just IS in his own category because he’s doing once in a lifetime type of shit

While there's never been someone like Lamar at QB before, I don't think he's once in a lifetime at all. I think he represents a paradigm shift in the sport. I think in the future that the best athletes, rather than simply be placed at WR or RB, as Polian would suggest, will be groomed to throw the ball and read defenses. Now that the Lamar and the Ravens are showing what is possible, I don't see a regression to simple pocket passers in the sport long term. Lamar is just revolutionary, which is why he's making records that no one previously thought to even track.
Yeah the NFL struggled to fill the league with 32 unathletic pocket passers so it seems like a stretch to suggest that we'll find plenty of Lamar Jacksons.Eh, if this was the case then you would've seen these guys already. Taking a world class athlete and making him a legit QB isn't exactly rocket science if the guy can actually do it. It's different being fast/quick/agile and being all that while also being a damn good passer. Otherwise, there would be a lot more of those players lining up to play QB because they would make more $$$
